MSC Seashore

Ship: MSC Seashore

Cabin type: Suite

Cabin number: 16011

Review summary

Butlers were great in the cabin area. Concierge service in the Yacht Club was not impressive. They do not, and will not, multi-task. There’s usually only one there and they only do one thing at a time. Most folks just walk away after a long wait as we did.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Ok. The reception area ran out of Champagne glasses and snacks and then got backed up waiting for escorts to take you to your cabin.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Drinks were plentiful, never enough bartenders though, always a wait, even in the Yacht Club area. Food was disappointing, but we were told by friends that sailed it would be. Meat temps were usually spot on but quality of the cut was a disappointment.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The Yacht Club party on Tuesday night was nice. Very disappointed that they close the Yacht Club bar so early every night (6-7 PM) The whole purpose of purchasing the Yacht Club is the benefit of the private areas. Very disappointed.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Went to the Comedy show and he wasn’t very funny.

Children's Programs

No kids accompanied us

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Butlers were great. Bartenders were so so, never enough of them, even in the Yacht Club

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Insufficient elevators. Usually a 15-20 minute wait for an elevator during most of the day. Express service for Yacht Club was almost non-existent.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Didn’t have enough electrical outlets. There are none in the bathroom and only USB’s on the night stand. Had to get an extension cord to run cpap machine.

Ship tip

Use your wristband to call an elevator. That’s the key to express service, if you can get an elevator. We weren’t told until late into day 2.

Ports of call

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Visit the cove side. The ocean side is very rocky and hard to walk on.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Lots of jumbo ships unloading into a very small area. Impossible to get into shops. Just too many people in a very small area.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It was Ok. The Yacht Club area had coffee and snacks but there’s never individual service as advertised, it’s always wait for a group and it’s more people than can fit in the elevator and it took 20+ minutes to get and elevator.

As for the concierge, when it is your turn you want his full attention, that to me is good customer service. As a customer service instructor I teach my class to give your full attention to the customer in front of you.
