Review summary

This was our first time cruising on MSC .. and prior to booking I check reviews and they were mixed so we decided to give it a shot ..bottom line MSC is a great value for the money PROS - the ship Cabin accommodations Cons - the upgraded “ Aurea “ experience is not a good value - the buffet area is huge, the food was very good and had plenty of variety but not quite on par with other cruise lines with all the specialty shops

When we arrived we had to stand outside in a line outside the building in the heat for at least 30 to 45 mins

You don’t have the full variety that you have on carnival but I was always able to find something to eat and the food was good .. the pizza was AWESOME ! .. the sit down dinner on the other hand was just average at best

We attended the big production shows as well as the smaller venue the cabaret lounge .. the shows were very entertaining

We have been on several cruises and This was our first time with a balcony .. MSC offers an incredible value when it comes to the cabin accommodation.. it was nice and clean .. our cabin steward was very nice they cleaned our room almost like a ninja ..cleaned our room twice a day

Ship tip

If you are planning to cruise on MSC for the first time know that it’s a little different from some of the others .. taking into consideration the price point and the overall experience you won’t be disappointed

Several ships were docked so the market and the streets were extremely crowded so didn’t enjoy it at all

This was our worse experience ever getting off the ship .. we did the express walk off .. and so yes several other cruises chose to do this and the line to get off wrapped around the ship . We were in line for almost 2 hours as we were directed thru back hallways , thru the theatre up and down stairwells .. a better way to do it is call people by decks and let people sit until the line got short instead of having people get in a mile long line and stand in it for hours .. this was the worse part of the cruise
