MSC Seashore

7 Night Caribbean & Bahamas (Port Canaveral Roundtrip)

Sail date: April 28, 2024

Ship: MSC Seashore

Cabin type: Balcony

Cabin number: 12154

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 11 days ago

Review summary

A great value with a cabin that would cost you $4,500 on RCL for just $1,288. Ship is maxed for maximum passengers. That is why the pricing is so good. Find a way to avoid crowding getting to events early and it's a great ship.

Embarkation

People herded like cattle and very congested unless you were in the Yacht Club.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food OK at The Market Place. Some dinners in the dining room very very good but formal night Lobster and Filets were tough and dry.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Great if you have kids

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Some shows were OK

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
great water slides

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent maitre d got us the table of our dreams. Excellent waiter that read our minds and knew what we wanted.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
New ship so rating is high. Hot tubs were rather cold at 95 degrees. Maybe by design to protect health compromised people

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nice location in mid ship. Quite. One problem is that the starboard side allows smoking on deck 8 outside below us. Even being 70 feet we could smell smoke depending on wind direction. This would be even worse if we were lower. MSC seems to cater to the few smokers rather than the many non-smokers. TV channels very limited and no Fox News, just boring, bias CNN and no English speaking channels.

Ship tip

If you drive your car, get there early as traffic lines up for 1/4 mile as they do not open the parking garage until 11 am.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

3 out of 5
Dominican Republic port of call looked very dangerous. There have been several tourists missing but not from our ship.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Ok if you can walk at least a half a mile to the entrance. Some elderly needed help witch there is.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

Be careful. We just stayed on the ship for this one.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

3 out of 5
A lot to see but be careful not to wonder off the main drag.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Unorganised and once again being handled like cattle unless you are a Yacht Club member.
