Review summary

This was our third MSC Cruise and it is our new favorite cruise line. The value is outstanding, the entertainment is always excellent, the ships are beautiful and the service is great. We have had a balcony Bella and Fantastica and may consider Yacht Club for a future sailing. You can't go wrong with an MSC cruise. Don't believe all of the negative reviews. Negative people are going to be negative no matter what. Go with a positive outlook! You're on vacation! Have fun and look for the good in everything you experience!

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We never went hungry!!! We ate in the Central Park Dining Room at early seating on 4 nights, at Butcher's Cut 1 night and at Teppenyaki 1 night. We went to the buffet one night for dinner also. All of our lunches/breakfasts were in the buffet and we had many selections to choose from. Teppenyaki Specialty Restaurant was outstanding. Our chef was Arnel and he was so much fun! Great food as well. My husband doesn't tolerate garlic well and asked for it to be omitted from his food. His entire meal was prepared at a separate table by a separate chef.....that's above and beyond for sure.

Kaito Teppanyaki

Our chef, Arnel, was amazing!!! He was entertaining with his presentation and the food he cooked was outstanding and flavorful. All of the "sauces" for drizzling over the meat and fish were made right there at the table. Each course is served on a separate plate or bowl, unlike how we are served at our local Japanese restaurant where the majority of the meal is placed on one plate. The seasonings and flavors of all the courses were so very good. I am not a sushi fan, so the first course was not for me, but I did try it.

Seashore Bar

5 out of 5

The most fun bar on the ship!!! Great bartenders and service! Plus it's in the middle of much of the nightly entertainment.

Central Park Restaurant

Our waiter, Alex, was wonderful. The food was very good with the salmon as one of my favorites.

Butcher's Cut

Best filet mignon ever! Outstanding service for a nice romantic dinner for my husband and me.

Onboard Activities

We enjoyed pool time at Infinity Pool and the main pool on deck 18. We also enjoyed all of the theme night parties.

Entertainment

Le Cabaret Rouge

4 out of 5

This is a multi-level venue for nighttime entertainment with a variety of entertainers. No reservations are needed. It's just not easy to get a good view of the stage that is on the lower level. And if there is anything being shown on the large screen, it is hard to see also. It would be better if there were smaller screens also on walls throughout the theater.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All ship personnel were friendly, always smiling and welcoming. I never came across one disgruntled or rude crew member.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship sparkles!!! The crew are always cleaning and shining things! I have been on Seaside twice before and it has a similar layout to Seashore, so I didn't have a hard time navigating the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin is typical balcony and did seem to have slightly more storage capacity than we had on Seaside. Always cleaned twice per day. We requested a top sheet the first day (not usually placed on beds on MSC). Great cabin steward, Garian.

Ship tip

Go with a positive attitude

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
The last time we visited Nassau (Feb 2023), the port entry was going through renovations. That's all finished now and is very nice. Check out Sharkeez for lunch and try the cracked conch!

Montego Bay, Jamaica Did not visit port

Montego Bay is a beautiful scene from the ship, but we chose to remain on the ship.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
The waters at Grand Cayman are the most beautiful! We took a taxi/van trip that cost us $30 each and it was very nice. Even took us to Hell and back! Make sure you buy some Tortuga Rum Cake while you are in Georgetown!

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
The pier we docked at (Punta Longasta) was crazy!!! We have previously docked at International Pier and it was not as congested as Punta Longasta. Suggestion: do not get off of the ship as soon as it docks. Wait awhile so that it is not so congested. This time we did a little shopping and visited Senor Frogs for one drink only. That place can get too crazy! In the past we have done the Cozumel Bar Hop and I highly recommend it.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
If everyone follows the instructions given, it is a very smooth process. Once our group/luggage tag number was called, we were quickly off the ship. Customs is so easy with passports/facial recognition.
