Review summary

Overall, we had a great time on the MSC Seashore, I would consider MSC again for a future cruise, however I would prefer a more adult type cruise without so many children on board.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Pretty smooth considering the amount of people all in one area at the same time. Executing all travel arrangements, documents, and luggage tags are key for a smooth embarkation. The only challenge is finding the right line to be in, there is a Yacht Club line, wheelchair and scooter line for the disable, and your regular line. Once inside the building if you prepared all your documents, the process is pretty smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The elegance of the dining rooms and specialty restaurants was great. The buffet was good just crowded and it can be a bit frustrating especially if you don't have a lot of patience. Of course the best quality food is with the specialty restaurants. If you purchase the dining experience, I didn't like the fact that I couldn't choose the restaurants, for example I purchased the 4 dining experience package which they gave me a choice of 4 restaurants I had to attend, I only liked 2 out of the 4. Plus you had to make reservations right away once you were on board. I had some conflicting times, but I was very grateful that the staff worked with me and they worked it out.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The activities were great on board, we were specifically interested in the theme parties. The biggest problem we had that they announced the activities for the day at midnight, so we couldn't plan for the theme parties because nobody would know until midnight. This was very inconvenient because without knowing we didn't have time to send our clothes to the laundry for ironing, so we showed up to the party with wrinkle clothes and our pictures reflected all the wrinkles, so embarrassing.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I appreciate the effort, the ship pretty much touched on all the categories but they were bit heavy on the Latin side but it was still good.

Children's Programs

I didn't have any children on board with me, there were a lot of kids on board especially babies, never seen so many strollers on a ship before. Anyway, I will probably look for a cruise without so many children next time.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service was excellent, no complaints there, however there is a language barrier if you speak English.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This was the most elegant and largest ship I've ever been on, it was awesome!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very comfortable cabin, never slept so well in a long time, a bit pricey but still very good.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5
This was our embarkation and disembarkation, no excursion.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
We had a wonderful visit, excursion was great, just too short. We booked this excursion through RCI.

Montego Bay, Jamaica

5 out of 5
Port was great Jamaica really entertains, however if you use your card to purchase any items be aware of the high taxes they will charge you (it's ridiculous!) Best to have cash but be careful, vendors are pushy and you have to tip for pretty much everything. Also, the roads are rough so be prepare for the fastest, bumbiest, and somewhat scary ride you ever been experienced on a bus. You will probably need some Tylenol at the end of the day.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Love the Caymans this was too short of a visit so we will have to come back on an independent visit via airline and hotel.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
Port was ok, didn't do any excursions, price was too high for such a short visit. Just got of the ship and walked around .

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
This was a challenge, they wanted us out of the room early to just sit and wait 3 hours before exiting the ship. I understand they have so much work to do for the next cruise, but with only the buffet opened it was chaotic with no where to sit and people with their luggage, strollers, wheelchairs etc.. it was terrible. Your patience was really tested at this point. I'm not in business but why not just take a day to prepare for the next cruise and not be rushed.

Yeah high season sailings specially Holidays are always chaotic, but I agreed with you with the Debark, they want you so earlier off the room and mostly everyone is in the buffet or the MDR which is very chaotic because people tend to wait those long hours in these places, but overall Msc is a good experience for the value, never regret it the 2 times I sail

The shorter less expensive cruises will always have more families

Between the baby strollers and geezer scooters cruising is starting to be a pain…

Appreciate your detailed feedback. It’s hard to know what group you might have as fellow passengers. Or how many children might be on your sailing. We try to avoid Spring break and it looked to me like you did that. A crew member also recommended avoiding Thanksgiving and Christmas. Hope your next cruise is better in this regard. Glad you enjoyed your managed to enjoy your cruise in spite of the children.
