Review summary

We love MSC and the Yacht Club however this cruise was not the experience that we are used too in the Yacht Club. Every meal was loud and parents not tending to their children in the dining room. Which caused chaos and stress for other passengers and staff. The same goes for the pool and hot tub areas within Yacht Club. Parents not tending to their kids. It shouldn't be up to the staff and other passengers to babysit their kids. Children running around, parents completely drunk and not caring where their children are or what they are doing. lastly, we were on a lower deck at the spa and got rained on by a bunch of cigarette butts (some were still light) along with a red dot laser pointed at us. Of course It was reported. We did have some great things on this cruise too. Our servers were great and gracious. The spa is worth the money. Also found a nice hiding spot on the deck there. The shows have really improved. The Cabaret Rouge house band is amazing. Will I cruise MSC again probably but not anytime soon. I will explore other cruise lines.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was good, no complaints about the taste and temperature. There were plenty of choices in the dining room and the grill by the pool.

Venchi 1878 Gelato

5 out of 5

Yes there is a charge but it is worth it.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There were plenty of activities, however for the 18 plus only activities the parents brought their young children that were disruptive.

Thermal Area

5 out of 5

It was great.

The Aft Infinity Pool

3 out of 5

It would be great if MSC enforced the adult only for this area.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
MSC upped their game when it comes to the shows and house band.

Le Cabaret Rouge

5 out of 5

We went there every night. The band was amazing and no 2 shows were the same. Great way to pass an evening. Also during the day it is quiet and great wake view .

Hall of Games

5 out of 5

Great place not one kid in there playing any games.

Children's Programs

Wished the parents would use this service

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I will give them 5 stars. The staff tried but the number of unnecessary neediness from certain guest, the services were spread thin. Service did suffer and it was seriously lacking.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Clean, cozy and comfortable. The jr Butler kept our cabin stocked and super clean.

Ship tip

Try to avoid going on a cruise during spring break with children. If you do there are few places on the ship that will be quiet.

Avoid spring break cruisers as long as the lines have kids sail free promotions. My experiences have been indeed the parents' check out, expect everyone else to watch out for their precious children, and rude entitled teens. I choose to sail on smaller ships without all the amusements to avoid having to deal with them. I do love children, but I don't want to babysit. I've done my time with my own children and grandchildren

I avoid sailing during school breaks, l don’t mind the kids, but I do not like that the parents just check out, and do not do their job of tending to the kids.
