I would definitely cruise MSC again. There are some things different but it was worth it.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We had an 11:30 embarkation time. They opened the doors early because it was raining outside. We were on the ship by 11:45 ish. It was smooth and zero complaints at all.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Is the food like a 5 star restaurant..... No. It's typical cruise food. There was plenty of variety for dinner in the dining room. Breakfast was the staples plus a couple daily variations in the marketplace. The dinner was a themed night along with the "classics" available daily. Drinks were fine. It did suck a little when you ordered a drink and got a variation but it was easily fixed. We drank alot and didn't have many complaints at all.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We watched a few bands and 70s night. We didn't watch any theater shows. The pools were busy and so were the hot tubs. There were 2 "cons" according to us..... first of all there is no hot tubs in the 18+ area around the infinity pool. The second one was that you cannot have a drink in the hot tub! It was 2 things we enjoy on other lines.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We did enjoy several musicians during the trip.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We honestly had ZERO complaints about any ship personnel! There wasn't alot of servers that wait on you pool side, on the beach, or in the marketplace. They were never rude just not a service offered.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
It was beautiful. Once you learn the ship it's pretty simple!
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Our first interior cabin but it was great. We were under the Madison theater but never heard a thing! We had an amazing steward named Cherry and she was very friendly and did an amazing job!
We went to Purta Lagonsta which isn't my favorite but it was something different. We visited Paradise Beach. The water is full of seaweed but I think it's seasonal and we go in Feb. The food was good and the dragon fruit mojitio was yummy.
We did a mayan ruin tour and Bacalar 7 color lagoon pontoon tour. It was Amazing! The lagoon is like nothing else!!!!!! They are currently still excavating Chacchoben this year and it was pretty interesting.
