Review summary

Overal this was a pleasant cruise, much better than our NCL Epic expereience (5,400+ passengers). Will most likely use MSC again in the furture, just not one of the new Mega Ships.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
First MSC cruise experience and only second on a Mega Ship (5,500+ passengers), we normally sail Celebrity, so our expectations were skewed. Food was lackluster, very little to no seasoning exccept for Hola Cantina which was Excellent. No cook to order eggs/omelette service in Marketplace Buffet and they actually served Eggo Waffles and Pop Tarts 🤦‍♂️ Main Dinning was extremely (painfully slow) and dessert had to be ordered with entree. Coffee with desert was never offered and good luck finding your assistant waiter to get a cup. Bar staff were all extremely polite but the electronic ordering system caused service to be extremely slow even in bars with very few patrons. Simple drinks often had missing ingredients - Mud Slides only had vodka, no Bailey's or Kahlua and never any heavy cream; Bloody Marys had no spice and always seemed watered-down. have to admit, there was a good Beer selection and it was Always Cold🙌

Ship Quality

Beautiful Ship with a lot going on to please the eyes. Hotel staff did an excellent job keeping her clean

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
A/Cc did not cool the first day out, but a call to Customer Service and mention to our cabin attendant quickly resoved the problem. This is a European trained crew, so there were no wash clothes in the cabin and attendant forgot to leave clean ones. Also, there is no top sheet on the bed, only a duvet cover. Buttons near the door signaled Do No Distrub (DND) and Clean Cabin.

Ship tip

Elevators were extremely slow and confussing to begin with due to the touchpanel system and no floor selection buttons inside the elevator. Be sure to download and USE the MSC for Me app!

Glad you had a pleasant trip. The elevators do take a minute to get used to. Other lines are starting to adapt that though 😒
