Review summary

This was our second cruise with MSC. We had a terrible experience (and totally different from the first time). It seemed a totally different company. Crew was not trained to serve customers. They seemed very unhappy and were not courteous at all with us, especially the servers from buffet to bars and specially at the restaurant. Overall crew seemed very unhappy, and they were always rude when asked questions.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The servers were very rude and did not do their job of serving well. For example, for our drinks' server, we had to keep asking for water all the time, every night.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Very poor. The day we could not stop to Ocean Cay until 3pm there was no entertainment by the pool.

Entertainment

They were okay, but seemed they were doing their minimum.

Not very well maintained. Common bathrooms were always smelly.

Cabin / Stateroom

I would not recommend MSC for anyone.

I stated the same in my review several months ago. Mostly ALL the crew are new on all MSC ships except the ones in the yacht club, where they only employed the best personnel etc. They basically get a new crew every 8 months if the others don't have their contracts renewed or don't pan out. Mostly all the crew on the Lírica, Meraviglia and Bellísima are new too and basically have no prior experience. The crew I knew before the pandemic never came back. I kept in touch with them. And besides that MSC had them on ships with nowhere to go for weeks after cruising was cancelled. Many had no money to get home and MSC wouldn't provide them any until the end. So that's what's up with MSC and many other cruise lines with bad service right now. It will take some time to get experienced staff members again, unfortunately.
