Review summary

Cons: Bad food overall. Bathroom wasn’t completely clean on embarkation. Service was iffy. Crowded lines. Decks were often closed and front of ship inaccessible. Pros: we were upgraded to a balcony for free. They don’t always charge for alcohol in dining room (only). Ports were fantastic. Although most food was bad, they had fantastic pizza and meats/cheese. Pretty ship with plenty of activities.

Embarkation

Slightly chaotic but at least the room was ready.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Pizza and Italian meats and cheese were delicious. Other than that it was overall largely disappointing. Bland and just lack of quality and try.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5

Entertainment

4 out of 5
A few singers were awesome. My favorite lounge was le cabaret rouge.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Maybe not as friendly as staff on other cruise lines yet not really many complaints.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Soap dispensers in bathrooms were not functioning properly the whole time. Ship is pretty but nothing out of the ordinary.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
No complaints

Ship tip

Don’t expect great food. The balcony room was great. Entertainment was pretty good. The ship is HUGE.

Ports of call

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

The first thing you notice at port is the construction equipment and unfinished areas. You can tell it’s not a “real” island. The sand is very coarse and there’s sharp rocks everywhere on the beaches. Lunch was a cold burger and fries, consistent with the overall bad food aboard Seashore. The lighthouse show is a joke! I think it was less than four minutes long. Make it worthwhile like 15-20 minutes. I will say that on a good weather day (the opposite of what we experienced) it offers pretty good snorkeling around the dock and north side around rock barriers.

Good thing I gave this review just after the cruise because I’m honestly now thinking it earned more like 2 stars instead. Main problem is the food. Be more authentic. Pizza and Italian meats are fantastic but let’s see more of that. Stop trying to cater to what you think Americans want because you fail miserably at it!! Sailing MSC is like a cheeseburger without the cheese, you can just tell something is missing.

MSC needs to step up the food game apparently cause that’s all I see lately. Granted I see more overall bad reviews of MSC than other cruise lines. When ur cruise fare is cheap you get what you pay for!
