Review summary

This was our first msc cruise, we've cruised with rcl, ncl, carnival and celebrity, the price was great and the ship was beautiful, we just did not like the layout and food was more of a mission than anything, but all in all It still was a vacation

Embarkation

Pretty easy, we had a 12:30 appt, we got there at 12:25, a Lil worried when we saw line outside, but it was moving, so total time was 30 min.

Food and Dining

Food was very hit or miss, we ate in mdr every night and it was OK, some things really good some not, don't order the chef special chicken and waffles, it was a eggo waffle lol. The buffet was so overly crowded and most was bland to me, so I ate pizza everyday which was good.

Marketplace Buffet

This is a very chaotic buffet, not easy to navigate, the best thing was the pizza and the plates were bigger like platter sizes. They dont clean the table as frequently as other cruise lines so you end up sitting at a dirty table most days, and the machine were often out of drinks and ice, so you had to always go find next beverage station and hope for the best. The best thing I thought was good was they had a separate kids section for kids where they could just get there food without having to go around whole buffet, and it had foods catered to them, nuggets, fries, cornmeal dogs etc.

HOLA! Tacos & Cantina

I really had high hopes, but it was a let down, we went for lunch one day and got the all you can eat buffet, it took 1 hour for our first course, n it wasn't that great, the flavor was there but meat was overcooked, the dips were sitting under lamps so long the cheese was just rubber, the host came and apologized for the wait, we tried to get more tacos it was another hour, once we got it we left.

Madison Theatre

Theater was nice but tight seats and the aisles are as well, you need to stand up to let people pass. There is no bar service so you would need to bring your own drink.

Love this spot, best entertainment on the ship, singing was better than in the theater.

Service and Staff

Staff was fine, we never encountered anyone rude but we found that staff wasn't as personal as other cruise lines, for instance or room attendant never introduced himself, we did not see him or know who he was until day 3, when we called guest service for a extra towel. Our mdr waitor as well not friendly just took order only, his assistant was more personal asking how we were, how was day, etc.

Ship Quality

The ship was always clean, the layout was terrible we could not navigate at all, and Normally it takes us 2 days to get the lay, but this ship was very confusing, we had to read the maps everywhere and daily. Also the elevator were the newer ones where you enter your floor n it tells u which elevator to get on, which is great because they were never overly crowded but the wait was always long and inaccurate on the keypad, we took steps 95% of the time, and a few times they were out completely.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was a inside 10136, it was 2 adults and a 14yro old, this was biggest inside I've stayed in, but the bathroom was tight, and showere even tighter, your elbows hit the wall as you turn, very claustrophobic, I would rather have a bigger bathroom than bedroom.

Ship tip

Be prepared to take steps. They have a ice cream machine but it's only open couple days so be prepared to buy the Gelato. Remember to bring your own beach towel to the pool, they do not provide down there, you can exchange only but you can not get one.

This was a beautiful private beach, not overly crowded, love staying the night over and going to the beach at night. They did a buffet it was same as on the ship.

Disembarkation

Typical like most crowded, we did the walk off, had to be off by 7:30, could not take elevator because of overcrowding, had to walk down 4 flights of stairs with luggage was no fun, we then had the long line to get off which was about 25 min, once off you take the picture I'd and you're free.
