MSC cruise line one of favorites, but not this ship. Would like a cruise to the ABC islands, but haven’t seen one being listed. The cruise all in all was very good. Just didn’t care for the ship.
Embarkation

Fast moving, no real problems.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Acoustics terrible in complimentary dining rooms. Food was good though. Wine is always good!
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Did not join in any activities while cruising this time. We traveled with 4 other couples that we don’t see often enough and enjoyed their company.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Repetitive, but still entertaining.
Service and Staff

As a diamond member of MSC’s loyalty program, I was to receive certain extras in the cabin ; i.e., bathrobe and slippers. I finally got a bathrobe on the third day and had to ask for it. Never got the slippers. Waiters didn’t put the ladies first at all. We were not first to get a menu, take an order, nor served.

Layout was an in and out pattern. On some floors you had to find a hidden door to go port to starboard. Restrooms very hard to find, and on embarkation day, the ladies restroom outside of theater had no soap. The elevator system is for corporate offices, not a cruise ship with 5600+ passengers plus staff. One could wait 30 minutes for their “car” to arrive and then can’t get in because of overcrowding. No button choice inside the elevator. You choose the floor you want to go to on the outside panel wall and it tells you which car is for you. Once in, you can’t change our mind unless someone else has picked a different deck.
Cabin / Stateroom

Main bed area was quite comfortable, as well as out balcony. We did have to ask the rom attendant to clean the balcony as it was very dirty. The closet door is better off. It was extremely hard to slide the door from one side to another. Nothing to grasp onto to pull it back. And, the bathroom on this newer ship is a joke, especially the shower. I don’t know how a large person takes a shower as they could not possibly fit in the shower space. If you don’t a bar of soap (not provided), you would have to open the door to bend down to pick it up. Two items definitely missing from all other cruises, no tissue boxes and no towel character left on the bed. Had to ask for tissue and was told at first no and then the attendant said he would have to get permission from his supervisor.
