Review summary

Good value for the money, but ill stick with royal caribbean in the future. Im not sure if many of my issues with it are related to COVID and other cruise lines are doing it, or its just this cruise line. The staff all had to wear masks, which made no sense when you have a cruise ship of over 3k people not.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and efficient (for a cruise line)

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Didnt attend any specialty dining, though the sushi place was cool with the food train. We got put in a dining room with no outside view, which wasnt preferable. The breakfast buffet was good. Lunch buffet lacked much variety. The pizza was great. The food choices at the sit down dinners were good, and the food tasty. The waiters were great at bringing you more of a specific thing you asked for. They ran out of wines....

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The theatre shows were alright, nothing special. Onboard activities like dance classes were about the same as other cruise lines. Just didnt really appeal to me. Royal caribben has hosted belly flop and other competitions which were fun to watch. There really didnt feel like there was much outdoor space... Royal caribbean ships ive been on in the past felt like they had adequate space around the pools, or at least seating where you can see the pools, a fair sized basketball court, mini golf, or a surf wave, rock climbing, and other stuff, without the inside of the ship feeling like it was lacking either. The kids pool section seemed to take up a large portion of this ship.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The stage shows were alright, nothing special about them. The club DJ was alright, played more EDM stuff and no hip hop. Compared to a royal caribbean ship, not as much diversity in what kinds of shows there were (comedians, newlyweds game...etc)

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room service was excellent! Our waiters at the sit down restaurant were great. It felt like we were never able to get bar service any nights...we asked and they never showed... we got our dinner time changed to a later time and were told to show up between 6:30-7. We showed up at 7:09 the first night and they had given our table away already. We showed up at 7:01 the next night and got scolded by whomever attended the door....I found that to be a bit unreasonable. When we were on MSCs island, we would have to wait in line almost 30mins to get a drink... again thats not good.... the shining stars for us would definitely have to be our water staff at dinner and the entire staff at Venchi.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
it was cool that the buffet ran the length of the ship on basically an entire floor, but this created a bottleneck effect which made it feel very crowded and hard to walk around. As stated before, the outdoor space around pools felt very lacking, with there being no other outdoor amenities like a surf wave, rock climbing wall, the pools felt small , seating was poor, no mini golf.... it was overall very clean and nice.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was our first balcony and we loved it. The room size felt like we had plenty of space. The toilet was a little uncomfortable to sit at cause the sink cabinet got in the way of your leg on one side.

pretty beached but nothing special. It took around 30 mins of waiting in lines to get drinks just about everywhere, and they had food trucks that cost money....

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
got delayed by a medical emergency but otherwise smooth
