Review summary

We did enjoy are cruise mostly because we had great weather and were with family. Generally I wouldn't recommend MSC . When reading other comments if you want great experience on this line you need to go Yacht club. Other previous MSC cruisers have also been disappointed with the food saying it has gone downhill since they cruised before. Also for a ship that is less than 6 months old I was expecting EVERYTHING to be working on this ship and also a little more updating such as hands free doors and other such things.

Embarkation

We got separated from our son and grandaughter that needed a covid test(21/2 years) and all the people we asked didn't know that they had a different entrance to the ship as we sat and waited for them and started to worry that something was wrong. Didn't want to board the ship in case they didn't get on.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining room was disappointing since we have sailed mostly Celebrity and some RCL. Food choices weren't very appealing and no lobster night unless you bought your own.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Mostly pools as our grandaughter loves to swim. Disappointed that the kids area was actually a bit too much for a 2 1/2 year old especially when the big kids were running through the pool and splashing and being careless to ages of the younger kids. Warmer Jungle pool was almost 6 feet deep which was a concern for a non swimmer in our group and the Infinity pool was very small and where water should have been running around the pool there was NONE. She would have loved this to splash around in and also would have been great to just sit in.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Dancers and singers were good in the theatre but we enjoyed the Cabaret rouge shows more with the amazing singers and the live band. Was also a disappointment here as the last show was only the band and nothing was said that the can can and other performers were cancelled. Why not let people know instead of wasting time listening to the band play songs we had already heard.

Children's Programs

Our family stayed together and the toys in the baby area that our 21/2 year old may have liked seemed to young for her.

Service and Staff

We had a great girl Aprille visit our table in the dining room and around the ship at the buffet as well. She became a friend of our grand daughters. Very friendly.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Found there were soooo many bars and maybe there could have been a few areas with snacks that were part of your cruise. Areas were clean but NOT maintained as several areas had broken down waterfalls and sprinklers in the kids area and also no water around the infinity pool.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was great and roomy although the bathroom was on the smaller size. lots of storage was great and liked the 3 hooks on the wall as well as we had adjoining rooms and had the balconies opened together.

Ship tip

From what I have read prior to going on this ship the Seaside is a better ship .

Disembarkation

Standing in a LONG line waiting to get off of the ship was a bit annoying since with back issues there was no sitting down.
