Review summary

overall a decent cruise. we had some rough weather the first few nights so that was not as pleasant but it was calmer the farther in we got. the activities and shows done by the ship were very poor and we simply sat by the pool most of the time we were on the ship. our ports of call were mostly good but our stop in the caymans was cancelled which we were very excited for and Falmouth Jamaica, which it is not letting me review for some reason, was downright terrible. they charge $20 per person one way to get to a beach 10 minutes away that is very overcrowded and not nice at all. the pier is nice with lots of shops but i suggest not leaving the gates and just getting back on the boat. while it was a decent cruise i will certainly just pay a little more to go with a different line like Royal Caribbean next time.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
They send you a ‘suggested’ check in time but we arrived earlier so we just decided to go and found out you can just go anytime during the embarkation period. Forgot our vaccination cards at home but were able to board by showing pictures of our cards. did not even have to do a second test at the pier so was a fairly simple embarkation.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Very up and down some meals are very good while others are borderline inedible. I enjoy seafood and there were a lot of good seafood options at dinners, but my wife is vegetarian and the choices for those who don’t eat meat are very slim and what they have is usually very bad.

Marketplace Buffet

4 out of 5

staff are great and has a very wide selection of food, however the food is very hot or miss. through the cruise you learn what things to get and not get but with so many options we never went hungry and could find a few things that we liked every day. menu variation day to day is very minimal however.

Venchi 1878 Gelato

5 out of 5

our favorite pool and is typically much less crowded and more relaxing. no children allowed is probably a large part in this

Madison Theatre

1 out of 5

Evening shows are very bad and not at all entertaining. why not spice it up with a comedy routine or something different?

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
not many offered and what is done is typically just trivia games by the pool or dance lessons, nothing that really got everyone into it.

Jungle Pool

5 out of 5

We loved this pool and it actually has nice jungle theming. the retractable roof is also a very nice touch however it does get very warm inside when the roof is closed

Long Island Pool

2 out of 5

was very overcrowded and always loud and busy. took forever to get drinks or even find a chair to sit in

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The shows my wife and I attended were very bad to say the least. We were excited for the nightly shows but it was clear the performers did not have enough practice time together and we’re out of sync the whole performance. All of the shows were very similar as well with very little variation. no comedy or magic or other acts? various djs playing music throughout the cruise were good however.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
staff are always wonderful and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and accommodated.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
the ship was great and super clean. never experienced a problem with cleanliness due to the wonderful staff

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
went with an interior room and what we got was an interior room. the room itself was a decent size and the bed was comfy. bathroom and shower were very small however so if you are a larger person i would get a room with a larger bathroom.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
very fun, i suggest going to Chankanaab park and doing things like dolphin swims or hanging at the beach. only a $10 cab from port each way.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

5 out of 5
wonderful little island with lots of beach space and beautiful waters. if you just want to chill on a beach for a day this is the place for you. lunch was included on the island as well

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
was delayed we’ll past our estimated embarkation time, but once it was finally our turn embarkation was very easy.
