Review summary

I sailed MSC on the recommendation of a young nephew and at the end of the cruise I was so glad I followed his advice. The ship was The Seascape: the stage shows and entertainment onboard were astounding, the stateroom and dining room service superb, the food delicious and the ship well designed, clean and comfortable. I enjoyed my cruise experience aboard the Seascape and would highly recommend it.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We arrived at the port and embarked shortly thereafter without complications.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was delicious both at the dining room and the buffet. The dining staff was attentive and polite and our waiter, Ivan, made sure our needs and wants were met.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There were a lot of fun activities on board, such as bingo, pools, and trivia.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The stage shows were not to be missed. The entertainment staff did an amazing job getting everybody moving and dancing. It was fun, fun, fun.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Christina, our room steward, paid attention to every detail and was very respectful. Ivan, our waiter, made sure that our needs and wants were met. Ship personnel appeared professional at all times.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was kept clean and we could often see cleaning personnel wiping and shining surfaces commonly touched by many people.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The stateroom was comfortable with enough storage for three people. Naturally, having a balcony was a big plus. Our steward kept it clean and fresh.

Ship tip

Get a balcony room.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5
The Port of Miami needs much better and clearer signals to get out of the port.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
It’s nice that the Port of Puerto Plata offers a free ride to the welcome area and back to the ship. The Taino Bay Walk is beautiful. I took an excursion to the fort, a cigar factory, a rum distillery, the umbrella street, the pink street, etc.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
I like the fact that the port is so close to Old San Juan you can find your way back and forth easily. No need to take an excursion in SJ, just be prepared to walk.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Nassau changed a lot since the last time I was there. The straw market is now a covered market, the main drag is full of high end shops, and the post Covid welcome center make Nassau much nicer. Thankfully, I didn’t do an excursion because the weather deteriorated and we had to return to the ship earlier than expected.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas Did not visit port

The stop at Ocean Cay was canceled due to inclement weather.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was easy and uneventful.
