Review summary

Ship was really good, nice amenities, could use more and warmer pools and hot tubs. Food was not great but fine. Private island was great and easy to navigate to find a spot to spend the day, although lunch on the island was only in one spot and quite a walk depending on what part of island you ended up on. Wish the pool attendants would stop putting up loungers and chairs so early, but tons of spots all over to find something that suits you. Really good cruise.

Embarkation

Super quick simple and efficient check in and boarding

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food from main dinning room for dinner was less than acceptable. Understanding that they need to feed hundreds of people each seating, I am not expecting a 5 star meal, but honestly I have had better dinners at Applebee's. There were a few nights the dinner was OK, but absolutely nothing remotely special. We chose to eat at the Marketplace buffet a few dinners because we knew we could better quality and a wider selection for dinner. Breakfast was always great, lots of options and lunches at the Marketplace always had new things and you could find something you were interested in.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pools and hot tubs were good, but almost always cold, colder than they should be. Sometimes hard to find a place to sit and the pool attendants were always putting up chairs and loungers for the evening waaayy too early. They would be stacking chairs by 5pm, which left very few places to continue to chill out. Fitness center had good equipment, but staff was under trained in giving classes and instruction.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Bar/lounge areas were great and the Jazz musicians were always good. Other music performers were mostly good, a few not so much.

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was always helpful and knew the most common questions and problems. Simple solutions to any issues.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Design and cleanliness were great. Ship was well laid out, nice design, not too sparse or too crazy colored like some other cruise lines. Everything was always clean and tidy.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin attendant was great, but seemed overworked. We are pretty neat and not too demanding, so no issues. Bed was good, a little too firm for me, but good. The balcony was great, only way to go.

Ship tip

Don't expect too much from the food. Everything else was great.

Ports of call

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

It is Jamaica, it is what it is. Nice people, but just such a poor island.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Great place, safe to walk anywhere. We found a small section of public beach a 15 minute walk from the boat that was GREAT! It was sort of beach front of the Georgetown Villas. There are a lot of private communities right on the water, but the beaches are technically public, just look for the brown and with Public Beach access signs and take the paths between private communities to the beach. Water was awesome, view was great. I think there were about 8 people total. We lounged there for hours. Due to having to get a Tender (small boat to shore), it was less than organized and not explained well on how to get a number to get on a tender. Get you number early if you just want to get to the island and do whatever.

Cozumel, Mexico

Nothing too special, everyone trying to sell you something. We took one of the beach resort packages. It was nice, got lunch, drinks beach chairs and an umbrella.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It was fine, a few technical difficulties and not super clear directions on where to go, but overall orderly and when our number came up we were off the boat and through security/customs in 20 minutes.
