Review summary

Overall we had a terrific time. The ship is stunning. Food was mostly excellent except in the main dining hall so we just went elsewhere after trying it twice. We traveled with a family of 10 from 3 generations and all had a great time. Will cruise with MSC again.

Embarkation

Embarkation went smoothly. The cruise line assigns you a boarding time, our was 3pm. We landed in Miami at 11:30 am so we boarded about 12:45pm. It appeared that no one really adhered to the assigned boarding time.

Food and Dining

Buffet - food was great but long lines pretty much all the time. Main Dining Room - the food was VERY disappointing- small portions, not flavorful - cold soups - rather subpar. Specialty Dining - Excellent. Service was great and the food was terrific. We did the Teppanyki and the Butchers Cut. Both terrific.

Onboard Activities

So much to do! Gym was a bit crowded but I guess that’s a positive thing! Sports Bar was super fun. Pools were terrific and the children’s areas were great!

Performers and stage shows were some of the best I’ve seen on cruises.

All the staff were super friendly and helpful. However compared to other cruise lines the staff just didn’t make the same connections with us. The staff we great just not memorable.

We loved it. Clean. Big. Modern and very comfortable.

Ship tip

This is a large ship and it takes a few days to get orienteered. We found ourselves lost and turned around quite often. The elevators, at times, had long wait times.
