Review summary

Overall, my cruise was amazing. I love MSC. Their ships are beautiful. I will definitely do the MSC Seascape again, but it would be in Yacht Club. Hopefully, the Robotron is working next time.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This was the fastest embarkation I have experienced. MSC sent a text as to which Terminal to arrive, which entrance to use, & what time to show up. I followed the instructions. I was through security & on the ship is under 10 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
It would be 5 stars if the complimentary dining was better. They get it right in the specialty restaurants, Yacht Club, & now the buffet was much improved, but only the service saves the complimentary dining.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The MSC Seascape is intended for families. It would be 5 stars if the Robotron was working. Without the Robotron, the Seascape is the Seashore. The pools, water park, water slides, & the Thermal Spa are all amazing.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I wish there was a score between 4 & 5 stars. The first night theater entertainment was not good. I found out that MSC outsourced the entertainment for the theater. The best singer was underused & their weakest singer was overused. What saved the entertainment for me was the Le Cabaret Rouge. The MC was a singer named Sammulous. He was a contestant on AGT & is a 7-time winner on Showtime at the Apollo. He is by far the best singer I have heard while cruising.

Service and Staff

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The cabin was clean, but for this to be a new ship, it appeared that the furniture was old & outdated. At the very least, I expected the room to look similar to my room on the Seashore, which was amazing. The room was comfortable but being on the 10th deck put me 2 decks above deck 8, where many passengers were smoking. I could not enjoy the balcony as intended. The size of the room was nice. I have grown accustomed to MSC's small bathrooms. In addition, we had an odor in our room the whole week that no one could explain & it wasn't just our room. If MSC update the furniture in this room, figure out a better bathroom design, & I choose a higher deck, then this could have easily been 5 stars. We did share our concerns with MSC. They were very understanding, sent an apology card with chocolate covered strawberries to our room on the final night. This was classy.

Ship tip

Sail Yacht Club on MSC. This is my plan going forward!

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5
The tunnel leading to the port was closed. We were stuck in traffic for 2 hours trying to get to Terminal C.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

4 out of 5
We arrived 5 hours late. None of the food places were open & I felt I wasn't on the island long enough to enjoy my cabana.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
I should have booked an excursion in Cozumel. I am beginning to use Cozumel as either a ship day or a beach day.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
7-mile beach is amazing. One of my favorite ports.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

5 out of 5
First time in Ocho Rios. I will definitely book an excursion next time.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
For express disembarkation, we were to disembark the ship at 7:45am. We were off the boat by 7:15am. Very quick!
