You get what you pay for. The ship is beautiful but don't expect superd entertainment on board or five star food. The staff does there best but they are overworked. The ship leaving out of Brooklyn you can tell MSC doesn't care if their guest have a good time since they have the monopoly on the Brooklyn port. I think MSC would try harder to make guest time on board more enjoyable if they had more competition from other cruise lines leaving out of Brooklyn.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Smooth and quick very straight forward
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The main dining room staff was nice and accommodating. The main dining room food had good variety and the food was hot. The desserts were a hot and a miss. The buffet is over crowded and the food was rarely hot. There are also no turkey bacon or turkey sausage options at breakfast. Throughout the day they start closing stations in the buffet which pushes people into small areas to get food making it more crowded. The coffee was also rarely hot even first thing in the morning.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
The pools were crowded and people make everywhere. It makes it hard to relax when people are blowing cigarette smoke in your face. There were also a lot of people smoking marijuana and none of the staff cared.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
The DJ played the same music every night at every party. This made the parties boring and predictable after the first night.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff are very polite and accommodating. But you can tell they are overworked and tired. I felt bad for all the staff on board especially in the buffet.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
It's a beautiful ship but I did notice people left drinks all over the ship on the floor. There should be more areas for people to leave their drinks when they are finished. The staff isn't able to pick up empty glasses off the floor quick enough.
The food truck food on the island served cold hamburgers and fries with stale brownies. The buffet was good on the island but it was only open for 2 hours. There was also no way to get drinking water on the island unless you had a drink package and went to the bars. There should be water stations on the island that are free since it gets so hot and no one wants to walk all the way back on the ship just for clean drinking water.
Just enjoy the experience! I didn't know you could walk to the beach in Pt Canaveral. Good info. The bus tour to Coco Beach Town is awesome. TY for comments. I just Loved Meraviglia myself. Everyone has different expectations. And the itinerary may make or break your enjoyment.
Unfortunately, the way that cruise ship is run is because that's how the passengers want it. MSC had to change up things to be accepted by the USA crowd. Their food is absolutely terrible and I'm not a picky eater at all. They don't have world cuisine like their other ships...only Chinese food. Many of the crew members are from NYC.
Thank you for your review. Try one of their ships outside the USA. Night and day.
