MSC Meraviglia

7 Night Florida & Bahamas (New York Roundtrip)

Sail date: October 06, 2024

Ship: MSC Meraviglia

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 1 month ago

Review summary

We are supposed to make 3 stops for the trip, we only made one stop, and the rest of 7 days the captain was crossing in the ocean to kill the time and sailing very slowly to extend the time. They cancelled 2/3 of our trip.. with no compensation even for a future trip. This is my first and last time using this ship.

Next time you cruise, I would do two things: 1.) not cruise during Hurricane Season, as you risk your cruise either having your cruise canceled or itinerary altered. 2.) Read your Cruise Contract. It states VERY clearly that the cruise line reserves the rite to change your itinerary for any reason. If you had read that, this change wouldn't have come as a surprise.

I was on the September 29th sailing. Suppose to stay in Bermuda for 3 days. Only stayed 1. They said for swells but NCL went. We just sailed around too. Very disappointed 😞

If you’re looking for a ship that will definitely make all ports in the planned itinerary, especially during hurricane season - I think you’d better stop cruising

This is always a risk when cruising during hurricane season.

If you’re watching a lot of TV in your cabin, you’re doing it wrong.

We were on the Seashore and your ship was docked beside us and it was there all day long. Port Canaveral was closed. That was not an option until Friday afternoon. If you have complaints about that you need to talk to the US Coast Guard. You should be grateful that you were in a safe place with food, electricity, and shelter. Something that thousands of unfortunate people in Florida did not have. We didn't get the full advantage of our ports also because it rained all day at Ocean Cay and Nassau was a nightmare having 10 ships dock at the same time. We just stayed on board and on Ocean Cay there wasn't even any food available because the buffet on the island was closed. I was thankful that I was where I was and was safe and dry with a full belly. We made the best of it and had a great cruise. Sometimes you just have suck it up and make it what you can and look to the positive. We live in Orlando and I'm glad we didn't have to put up with no electricity, worrying about a tree coming though the roof, and figuring what to eat that didn't need to be cooked. Keeping positive helped me from worrying about what I was going to be coming home to or if the car was flooded.

You might wanna read your cruise contract. They owe you nothing but the port fees back. They are not required to stop anywhere and u have no recourse. Maybe don't cruise during hurricane season next time.

Sorry you were disappointed with your cruise but you were traveling during a hurricane.

Oh sorry to hear about your disappointment. You guys were stuck trying to avoid Hurricane Milton. Maybe The Meraviglia was not granted another port, as some other MSC ships in the Atlantic last week. Happy cruising in your next 🤩⚓️😎❣️‼️
