Review summary

We are not cruise people. The last one we went on was 53 yars ago. But we though my elderly mom might enjoy this and she did! The entertainment and the music were unexpectedly good and she really enjoyed these activities. The food, while not great, was fun and varied, and made for a nice change of pace. And the staff and crew were wonderful and really made the cruise. We would do it again!

Embarkation

4 out of 5
generally very easy with many folks present to help and direct. They found a whell chair for my 88 year old mom, which made the process much more manageable for us all.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
While there was lots of food and a good selection, the food itself was pretty average. Cooking for that many people, eating over many hours, must be very hard.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We didn't do too many activities--at least partly becuase they didn't look too interesting. Relevant lectures and more educational opportunities would have been fun and appreciated. The shopping on board the ship was of no interest at all.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
This was our favorite part of the cruise. We went to several shows, watched performers in the promenade and attended concerts nightly. As a family of musicians and singers, we were VERY improssed. Every evening we ended up in the lounge listening to a jazz trio. They were superb.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Uniformly friendly, helpful, and even chivalrous. We loved that fact that they were so multinational. Several staff went out of their way to make themselves exceptionaly attentive to my 88 year old mom. The staff were a real highlight of the trip.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Everything was clean and well cared for. We didn't find the ship to be particularly attractive (hated the color schemes, for instace), but that is a matter or personal taste. The distances that we had to navigate to get anyplace were large--a bit of a disadvantage when travelling with an elderly person. On the other hand, we all got our exercise.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Comfort, size and cleanliness were all good and the cabin steward took good care of use. Byt the rooms were gloomy. Who though a maroon and grey color scheme was appropriate for an cruise liner?

Ship tip

Take advantage of all of the entertainment!

Disembarkation

Easy but slow. Due to our cabin location we were the last to disembark.

I agree. Free entertainment on board is exceptionally good!! Paid is also very good.
