Review summary

Overall, this was an excellent cruise for the price we paid. We would book with MSC again.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
No issues, but we were Aurea level and had to ask several times where to go because Aurea/priority embarkation was not easily found. We were on the boat and in our cabin within an hour though.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main Dining Room was comparable to other cruises we have been on. The filet mignon was excellent. We ordered several steaks (not the upcharged ones) and they were all cooked perfectly. The buffet was okay, very crowded, hard to navigate. They often ran out of things including plates in a lot of stations. Coffee in the morning was out several times. Very long lines in popular areas.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We loved that they had a heated outdoor pool. Kids swam outside even when it was only 50 degrees out. I used the fitness center daily. First day was crowded, but by the 2nd day it wasn't hard to get onto the equipment you wanted. Both my kids did the ropes course and enjoyed it. My oldest liked the water slides.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We really enjoyed the Disco show. We also paid extra for the Rock Circus and thought it was pretty good as well. The Comedian was just okay. Only down side is that they do not allow drinks in the main theatre which is a negative for us. We like to enjoy a cocktail with a show.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
The had the best hours, lots of activities. They would take the kids to shows in the theatre, the arcade, the basketball court for games or dance parties. Great kids program!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our waiter, Jomar, and our room steward Febi were both excellent. We thought the service on the boat was great overall.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was very clean and tidy.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We ended up upgrading to cabin 11238 in the aurea area and it was worth every penny. Mid ship, no noise, convenient location.

Disembarkation

Not much instruction, but we were still able to make it off the boat in less than an hour, so no complaints.
