Review summary

Original ports were canceled due to weather, but the company did not offer any onboard reimbursement and did not let you add anything in after the itinerary had changed. Company would say things were complementary and then they were added to our bill afterwards and they told us to call corporate once our trip was done. You got what you paid for for the price of this cruise, but my partner and I will never again be traveling with the MSC line

Embarkation

1 out of 5
Getting on the boat was easy enough but rooms were not ready for multiple hours and we found fake eyelashes from last passenger still in our cabin.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Food was fine. Buffet was unsanitary so we tried to eat more from the restaurants at the planned meal times. Our restaurant was under the casino and smelt like smoke which was unpleasant

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
WiFi and tv was not accessible the entire last day of our trip and there was no way to use ship computers to look for events happening on the ship

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Premium shows were bad.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Nicole and dimes is on everything and were rude.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Common areas were clean but most people could not figure out how to use sinks.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Room size and balcony were great didn’t feel clean. Sheets had holes in them.

Ship tip

Don’t do it. The line was exceptionally bad compared to other trips I had gone on and when things went bad they were unkind and rude

Sorry you had a bad experience. I feel the same way about MSC after my cruise. I’ll never cruise with MSC again.

I apologize, somehow the dates were off on the review. I went from December 16-23 I’m not sure how the website auto selected the 30th. The itinerary was changed at 9:40 the night prior to leaving. The line said that they would allow guests to cancel for future cruise credits, but you were unable to get the price of the cruise refunded to the card that you paid with directly. we continued on with our trip because we had already traveled for six hours to get to the port but in the Facebook group for this specific trip people did not receive their future cruise credits for a month after the cruise was supposed to happen. It’s rumored that if you had trip insurance you were able to get the trip refunded on your card but again I went on the ship, so I am not sure if this is true or not

The dates for this review are kind of wonky - I sailed on the 12/30 cruise. We did visit Port Canaveral, Bahamas & Ocean Cay. Bit chilly, but nice. The previous cruise(s) were affected by the terrible weather, but people decided to cruise anyway, although they were offered an OBC, so that's that. I do agree with the "cigarette smoke" right above the restaurant lane. Not good, I even mentioned it to the door Usher bc the smoke was coming into the restaurant...so they tried to keep the door closed. The buffet is loud, busy, and very crowded. Skooby is spot on w/ the "buffet etiquette" issues, "or lack thereof" - some people have no regard for fellow passengers. Or maybe it's just ok with them bc they live by gross standards.

Sail and review dates are the same.

Everyone was offered to cancel that sailing due to the weather forecast. Also no buffet is sanitary that's why when I go on cruises I'm selective about what I eat at the buffet and try to be first in line. People are seriously gross like picking their nose and then pick up the serving utensils. I've seen many people pick up many rolls and then decided they didn't want them and put it back or the kids that dip their fingers in the food to taste it. 🤢 That's why I try to be first in line and use disposable gloves and wash my hands too and use sanitizer. MSC's luxury ship doesn't have a self serve buffet, the staff serves you. Hopefully all ships go back to that method like it was during the pandemic. Thanks for your review.

Was it the weather that was bad for all your ports? Is that why they were cancelled?
