I knew going into this cruise it would be 50/50 on being good reading the reviews. Next time I’ll pay extra and go on a ship that can cook and entertain.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
There was zero communication on where the shop was even docked and lines were horrendous
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
Put it this way I literally lost 5lbs on this cruise. And I enjoy food! Drinks were ok but nothing fancy and God forbid anyone had a single packed of salted butter. Ice machines were broken and lines were crazy long and unorganized

Ship tip
Don’t do it. Was hit with a $200 gratitude charge that I was not expecting
Hard to get to. Excursion sucked. I paid a lot of money to take a bus to get to the beach in Florida. They literally left us in a 7/11 parking lot with no direction. Ended up walking a mile to the beach. The Blue Lagoon do not go! Filthy dirty, it’s a shallow bay that was infested with jelly fish so people had to keep getting out. I will say the MSC private island was absolutely gorgeous.
They could have informed us the night of disembarking that if we kept our luggage we could do a quick exit. My husband was picking me up and we could have saved 2 hours waiting.
I've read terrible reviews regarding the Meraviglia and even Cunard's Queen Mary 2. People pay upwards of $30,000+ for some staterooms on QM2 but they still complain. I think it boils down to your expectations.
Every cruise ship has a gratuity fee added to your account. The amount varies by room class (suites are more) and there is a variation in lines, HAL is $16 and NCL is $20 / day.
