We use a travel agent for cruise bookings. They know better how to communicate with the cruise lines better than we - they do it for a living and develop relationships with the right people. And, then it's their job to resolve problems for you - it's why they are paid a commission on your booking. The cruise line pays the commission - not you. So why not find a good agency. We're using Vacations to Go for the third time. We even get a repeat client discount, as well as our Voyager's Club discount, and a discount for my wife's being a teacher. As well as discounts on packages added at booking. There are many good agencies. Find a good one and stick with them so they can "learn" your preferences (like cabin position, which can affect your whole cruise experiences) and better anticipate your wants and wishes. Also, they may have better pricing or offerings on excursions than does MSC. For instance, if I didn't already have a friendly transportation and touring contact in Ocho Rios, I see that Viator offers an excursion to Nine Miles in St Anne's Parish to visit the Bob Marley Museum.

Next time book through a travel agent. They handle everything for you including your questions. Email me when you’re ready for your next vacation. Donna.Landolf @cruiseplanners.com

People either love or hate MSC. I’ve cruised twice with them this year and loved it. I thought the food, servicing, entertainment, or equal to or better than Carnival or royal Caribbean. Their website and customer service prior to boarding the ship are terrible, but the onboard experience is excellent. As long as you book what you want in the beginning and don’t make any changes, it is not an issue.
