Unfortunately, this was our first and last time cruising MSC.

This was my first time cruising in an MSC cruise and to be honest I am disappointed. The food wasn’t great. The service wasn’t either. I didn’t feel pampered like other cruises I have been in the past. The fact that charge you for a show is crazy. The show is not even the greatest. Drinks were watered down. The cruise is clean and beautiful but the food is a big deal for me when thinking about a cruise vacation. Unfortunately, this was my first and last cruising MSC. Forgot to mention that there were extra charges that weren’t mentioned at the time of booking.

The buffet was very poor. No many protein options. The formal dining food didn’t have any flavor.

I enjoyed the hot tubs because I was cold so I didn’t use the pool. The gym was good.

The two free shows were really good. I enjoyed them but the paid one is really not worth it. It should be free.

Our waiter in the dining room was a very nice guy. Great service.

The size of the room is okay to be a ship. The bed was really comfortable and our room was cleaned daily.

Ship tip

Pay for the drink package as water and coffee are not free. Don’t expect the food to be great and expect some extra charges.

The island is beautiful but the food service is horrible. I did a line to get bad food for 45 minutes. They are definitely not prepared to feed that many people.

It’s a discount cruise line with beautiful ships that for some reason still refuses to understand the US market in which they are trying to gain market share. Set expectations low with them and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Set them high and you’ll be disappointed. I figure their cruise segment is just a money laundering operation for the mafia anyway. :-)

Water, coffee, tea and juice are all free. The buffet had awesome roast beef that they shaved for you. We had to add salt to our food but I'm glad they don't over-season food.

Specialty coffee and bottled water are never free on any cruise line. You don't have to pay for anything additional you if you don't want, it's an option.

I was on the Meraviglia in January and the Divina last month and had a great experience. I thought the food in the dining room and Buffay was excellent and the service and entertainment were good. There is no charge for water or coffee, unless you order bottled water or a specialty coffee away from the dining room / buffet. There is no charge for the main theater shows, only the specialty show in the smaller venue.
