Bed was like sleeping on the floor. Slept on the couch for 3 nights. Took threats of removing gratuity’s to get their attention and get something done.

The ship was beautiful but the cabins were horrible.

Very small for a balcony. Very very small closets and the bathroom was almost non existent.

Ship tip

Never sail on a MSC ship. In 27 cruises this was by far the worst cruise we have ever taken

We were on the cruise before and I felt the bed was too hard. So I asked if the y had any egg crates which they didn't but the cabin steward was able to put a couple of comforters under the sheet and then the bed was fine. I did this after the first night and then all was fine. That was our 12th cruise on MSC and we have a two week booked for next Oct.

We did a B2B on the Merivaglia in October, and had a wonderful time. I thought the beds were perfect, slept better than I usually do at home. This was my 5th time sailing with MSC and can’t wait until I can book again. Sorry you didn’t have a good time.

Sorry you had a bad experience. I agree with much of what you stated. I still had an enjoyable time. MSC has such potential and it is squandered with lackluster onboard experience. I liken msc to Ryan Air of cruising. I'm one of the few that hit in the middle.. I don't like or hate them.. it was just ok.

We were on in October and loved their Private Island and the crew were amazing. Hard for someone to rate an island they never bothered seeing. There was a lot to do besides "just beaches"

Its funny to note that the very previous review of MSC on this app gives it 5 stars and is titled "best cruise ever"... I still say its 90% attitude.

What did they do to improve the softness of your bed? Wow, I was thinking the cabin was going to be the good thing about MSC. The videos of them look beautiful and even the professional vloggers have said how nice they are. It seems all new ships have tiny balconies now. There are some larger balconies on the Meriviglia if you study the deck plans. I reserved one but now they are moving me.

JT1962 is correct. You either love or hate it. I loved it because of balcony for the price of an inside! The balcony room was perfect for a solo cruiser like me. The shows were very good. Sorry to hear you had a rough time. Better luck on your next cruise

Thanks for the review. People either seem to love or hate MSC. I will find out in January. Their balcony for the price of an inside cabin and no up charge for only one in the cabin promotion was too good to pass up.
