Ship: MSC Meraviglia

Traveled as: Large Group

Review summary

Coming back next year most likely. Make sure to go to the port shopping presentations. The port shopping guide RITA is amazing. I got a free charm in every port along with a free bracelet and free tanzanite earrings. She will give you insider tips! The aqua park and ropes course were so fun and amazing. Make sure to go on port days. At sea days have the LONGEST lines.

Embarkation

Smooth. Close to an hour because the lines were a bit long. Staff were very nice.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining room was mediocre. Had either pasta or salmon every night. Not enough vegan or vegetarian options. Waiters were amazing. Buffet had so much selection, you can find anything there. For the actual food, other cruise lines have been better.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Walking track was outside and not shaded like other cruise lines. Gym was crowded every morning so I never got to use it. The pools usually had room but very crowded around 1-3 pm due to afternoon activities. Did trivia every morning, afternoon, and night. My team ended up winning a backpack full of MSC goodies because we won overall.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The dancers were amazing and deserve a lot of credit. They danced every single night. Singers were very good, especially the females. Two opera singers were ok, I don’t like opera very much. The only entertainment other than the shows was one guy in the pub every night. He was so good, I can’t remember his name.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Some staff barely knew English. The head of the dining room came to us and we chatted. He talked about how the ship was like a prison and the staff rarely got opportunities to get off, that was a bit disturbing. Our steward Alexander was very sweet, but only knew Spanish. He knew little to no English. Guest services helped us with all of our issues. Our safe breaking, laundry issues, and much more. Our waiters and waitress in the MDR were amazing, Panorama Restaurant is amazing!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean. The staff were always vacuuming, mopping, and painting. The layout was easy to navigate. Maps and interactive touchscreen boards are found outside of every elevator and staircase. The app has a map feature which helps you find where you need to go. Since the ship is new, it was very modern. The crystal staircases were a big highlight for me.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Ocean view cabin. No distractions, no rocking. Recommend!

Ship tip

Eat at the family and kids area of the buffet. There are no lines, it’s not crowded, and I the same exact food as the “adult” part.

Ports of call

Belize City, Belize

4 out of 5
Tender took 15 minutes, not 45 like other people have said. WiFi hotspot in a mall, it’s easy to find. There are swings you can swing on.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
Clean and modern. There is WiFi in most stores and every store owner is not pushy. Amazing and can’t wait to go back.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

3 out of 5
Construction and loud noises everywhere. Staff is pushy and it is small.

Miami, Florida

Disembarkation

It took less than an hour. Off at 6:45, in our car by 7:30. Seamless, and the staff was very nice.
