If your into great entertainment, good music, good activities, large pool area, a beautiful ship and great customer service...then jump aboard the MSC Meraviglia!
I didn’t include food because it is average at best.....equaling most cruise lines.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
The embarkation process was disorderly. We waited for hours and then when finally called to board...mass confusion! When announcements were made, they couldn’t be heard! There was no sound/speaker system and when an announcement was made, it was made by someone with a barely audible voice. There were no marked lanes, signs or arrows indicating which way the passengers should line up. Hundreds of passengers moved from all directions towards the small narrow pass through. Man, what a “bottle neck”!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Sure, there were several times that the temperature or taste was not quite right, but overall, the food was okay. Let’s face it, thousands of meals are being pushed at each “feeding”, so you’re not getting Gourmet meals! (Not even at the “specialty” restaurants)
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Lots of Dance classes and Trivia sessions! Loved it! Really enjoyed working out at the gym. It was well-equipped and beautiful view!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
All the shows were EXCELLENT! There was a “Broadway” caliber show every night. AND each night the show was better than the night before. You will find no better entertainment at sea!
The bands and singers about the ship were really very good!
Children's Programs
Don’t have children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our cabin stew, Jasmin (no e), was extremely attentive. She greeted us everyday and peered out from above, below or around something! She was quick to respond to all and any of our requests. She made it evident that she was there to make sure we were pleased.
Our wait staff was also determined to offer the best customer service that they could!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was absolutely stunning! A beautiful ship with lots of attractive bars, lounges, sitting areas And the PROMENADE! Many of the passengers were drawn to this area not just for its shops and restaurants but for the daily and nightly “sky” display. A great gathering spot.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Comfort, size and cleanliness get high marks! Only “sore” spot was the size and location of closet...too small and too close to edge of queen sofa ( made it awkward getting into closet)
Ship tip
Don’t skip a show! Each one is different and truly entertaining!
Not much to do there. If you do the cave tubing, zip lining, etc., you’ll have to take a long boring drive to get there. AND these activities were okay...don’t know if it was worth the drive. Cave tubing and Zip lining were much better in Cozumel!
The area were the Meraviglia is under heavy construction! Looks kinda shabby now. Can notice in the bare bones that it probably will be a nice looking port in the future. This port is certainly not nearly as attractive as the port owned and used by Princess/Carnival
Thanks for the wonderful review! My sister and o are sailing on january 5th...my second msc cruise (first was seaside) and my sisters first ever cruise!
