Review summary

All-in-all, we had a great time. Not perfect and could have been a lot better. Bad: MSC App and internet. Never worked, but I was charged a pretty heft sum for a few days. The APP never worked with personal agenda and did not even come up unless you were connected to the internet which rarely worked. I asked for refun and was never told if I would be refunded. The Good: the ship, room (except for no outlets at bed), the ports were amazing. BAD: Rude people everywhere - be prepared to push your way through when gettign of an elevator or in line at the market place buffet.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Ship Food was ok. Not as bad as others reviewed. Dining Room selection and food was ok. Portions were small, so order more than one entree or appetizer. We didd and it worked out fine. Service was great! Also, we dined at 9 pm so we went to shows at 7:15 pm

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Not a lot to do on the ship since it was too cold to hang at the pool. there is indoor pool and jacuzzis, but we opted not to use--too crowded. Shows were ok and Cirq shows which cost 17.50 Euro extra was cancelled due to "Technical Dificulty." Bunch of Crud! Casino was nic, but smelled of smoke everywhere.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Cirq shows cancelled and money was not automatically refunded. Also, we were not informed through the app (Which stunk overall) or by letter to our cabin. They made an announcement over loud speaker. We heard a number of reasons for "Technical Difficulty." We heard at last that a Cirq person quit and they took all week to replace the technical person. Not sure what was true since we never got an official answer. Very sad way to do business.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Somer were excellent, but some were poor. Restaurant, Irish pub, and room attendant were excellent. Other staff were not friendly or knowledgeable and many said MSC was a poor company to work for. All in all, staff were not happy and I felt like it was my responsibility to cheer them up...extremely weird. Although, many of the passengers were rude and impolite, so negativity is contageous....

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Ship was beautiful. Boat did Rock a lot--and I mean a lot. Still feeling it days later... There was a really bad garbage/exhaust on the back of the boat by the kids slide and the sky bar/lounge.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Nice cabin, but bring adapters and extensone cords. There are NOOO outlets by the bed.

Ship tip

Make sure you know what to do for your excursions. Makes the trip better and easier.

There seems to be a lot more people complaining about internet speeds lately. Let me be clear: you will NOT get land speeds on a cruise ship. If you don't like it, go back to school, get a computer engineering and/or aerospace engineering degree, and figure out a way to improve it instead of whining about it.
