Review summary

We sailed from Ft Lauderdale to Jamaica,Columbia,Panama, Costa Rica and Honduras. The ship itself was beautiful, staff very pleasant. and the itinerary was great....However The total package is alot more than meets the eye. Bar costs.... from coke, water and drinks are more expensive, the entertaiment and deck activities are definately geared to the Europeans, not Americans. The shops onboard did not have the selections or deals of other cruise lines. NO FREE DECK ICECREAM. The food was good if you like Pasta dishes. We did have lobster one formal night but it was overcooked and no drawn butter was offered. The Buffets were the same. PASTA PASTA and more PASTA. The pool buffet was pizza and over done hotdogs and hamburgers which went with the rock hard bread. The coffee and tea was only offered from around 630 am to 1030 pm. No juice soda was offered after the buffet closed Unless you bought it from the bar. There was free incabin food service but had a very limited selection of foods. Parking was also a problem and very costly.

We went on the old city tour. Our tour guide was very informative, but in the VERY short time we were given at each spot there was little we could do

Cristobal, Panama

The altantic Side of the Panama Canal is not something tourist should do on there own It is very dangerous.Guided tours are safest. The Emboro Indian tour was very interesting and is a must see.

This was the best tour. The tour of the Kuna village and the people were very interesting. The food, Molas and wood craft, are excellent buys

We went to the market via a taxi, This gentleman was very informative and dropped us off at the market and picked us up 3 hours later as promised. The Emeralds were over priced. The vendors in the craft market were very mostly rude , grabbing at us trying to pull us away from other vendors. Alot of " Give me money" yelled at us.

Pros: The ship was clean, staff pleasant

Cons: PASTA<PASTA<and more Pasta. With other lines, there is a 24 hour buffet, ice cream available for free, This ship everything costs, No deck ice cream, and buffet is about the same times as dining hall, There needs to be more of a selection that isn't pasta.

Recommends MSC Lirica? No.
