Fantastic European-style cruising experience! by peppermints

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I loved the excellent food, the amazingly elegant ship decor and the white glove cleanliness of this beautiful ship! Our group eagerly anticipated each evening's  stage shows,  which were spectacular, varied and showcased the talented entertainment team, dancers, singers and acrobats. We never lacked for any service and were pampered by attentive, cheerful dining room waitstaff, cabin stewards and crew members.

I purchased the 18-voucher drink pkg & I was very happy with the flexibility of using it at shipboard bars & restaurants. I also loved relaxing with a pre-dinner cocktail listening to live music beside the crystal staircase!

All in all, a great cruise!

MSC Divinia by CruisesCarol

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The entertainment was terrific.  Décor  was beautiful.  We like to eat in the buffet and the food was good.  I do wish the desserts would have been more varied as it was mostly the same ones every night.  We had an inside room and it was quite spacious.

MSC cruise/ Yesor No? by judyaccorsi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The service on MSC is impeccable.  The ship is beautiful and very clean. Food was good, in main diningroom, specialty dining was extra, but very good.

We were dissapointed in the shores excursions cost and quality, and the cost of extras, such as a $3.50 service chg. For coffee in room. Room service is advertised  as free. The ship was also very crowded,  pool areas and gym were unable to use most of trip. Vendors throughout  ship overly  aggressive in trying to make sales, Photographers and on tv in room sales pitches were annoying.

Fisrt Cruise by kfmurdough

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I had a ver good time for my very first cruise. The only complaints I have are the stays in port or too short. And I wish that the person who sold me the drink package informed me when and where to pick up my drink coupons. I didn't get them until we left San Juan. I was told people tried to get a hold of us, but phone in room didn't ring or doesn't have a flashing light to indicate that we have a message.

Other than that, I will definitely cruise with MSC again. In fact, I'm eye balling one later this year for myself.

MSC is not the cruise for you by hangfire007

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My favorite part of the cruise was relaxing with my husband.  The worst part of the cruise was the food. The ship was very difficult to move around from one level to another, front to back (dinning room to cabin).

Our first time on an MSC cruise by DonAndDee

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Some events poorly organized - examples:

At several activities (the Quest, ...), people would stand close to the center of the activity preventing others seated in the room from participating at all.  Venue was poor.

At the advertised domino game, the host did not know how to play and the sets were mixed and incomplete making playing difficult.

The shuffle board was in the middle of a walkway - completely unusable.

Guests would "reserve" chairs around the pools and then not show up for hours even though the max saving time was advertised to be 1/2 hour.

All of the seven shows featured the ships singers and dancers with some acrobatics.  There were no outside entertainers (magicians, ventriloquists, comedians, ...).

These are examples of things that did not work.  However, in general, we did enjoy the cruise.

It was very good by Carvon2715

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our first cruise. Overall we were impressed with almost everything. In the eating area the hot items such as the meats and rice need to be kept warm because. when those items are out for a while they becomes cold. The theatre is huge and the nightly shows were very good and the other entertainments were quite good that on some nights seating was a problem because of the location they were held. We were impressed with the Ship and the Captain and his Operational Staff.

MSC DIVINA - Good job ! by HenryAnders

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Would I recommend MSC Divina  - absolutely YES . .

What to change ? Flexible dinner time just like on NCL. My smoking wife would like more options for smokers.

What was outstanding ? Comparing to NCL your drinking policy :

a)  you serve drinks  - versus NCL iced water

b)  your drinks are priced reasonably, without forcing customers to pay extra tip on top of everything, like on NCL.

c) the bartenders on the 15th floor- The Garden Bar - were the best . ( and it was our cruise # 9 in 3 years ) Especially Mr Justin Nieles Jarmonilla Jr deserves big bonus.

Great Captain, lovely islands, but wow the customer service is terrible by atlantagal1979

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had been hearing about a cruise line that was making their way to the United States and thought we would give it a try.  Our travel agent told us that the only complaints he was aware of was sometimes the language barrier between crew and guests and I totally understand that but I was willing to go and see if I was missing anything.  So Captain Scala was great the crew seemed to be nice and helpful, and the excursions really allowed us to have a nice time.  Once on the ship we had two instances of one on the first day back from an excursion our key wouldn't work to the room so we thought something was wrong with the key but as it turned out there was an issue with the entire lock so after about an hour we were fixed and good to go.  I don't fault MSC for this as accidents happen it was just a little inconvenient in order to get ready for dinner when I was being rushed and not able to have time to get ready but hey we are on vacation.  The second instance was a little more disturbing to me.  The pool is located near the dining so you always had to be very careful and watch the floors as it always seemed to be wet on our second night I came out and fell hard on my knee which was busted up pretty good.  However being embarrassed I just tried to laugh it off and kept going as I was not going to let this get me down but even as I fell in front of the dining crew member he did nothing to try and get the liquid off the floor that really should have been so no one else would have to endure that, but hey once again this is vacation and I am going to enjoy.  However the night before you leave if you don't want to carry your luggage you must put it by the door by midnight so we had several bags outside the door.  My new hard shell luggage that I bought three days prior to cruise was in perfect condition however when I got it at the port it looked like a crater in the corner.  As I wasn't going to let this trip end on a bad note I just went to the customer service desk and filed a claim report and was told to send pictures and they would match it up with my report.  The one key thing the lady told me was to continue to follow up as it was my responsibility to do so.  Long story short after over four hours of calls and put on hold, being told I needed to provide my copy of the report, rudeness and two months of time they finally allowed me to see how they don't value you or your belongings as a guest.  I offered to give Jess the receipt that showed three days prior to my departure the cost of the luggage and was told she submitted it twice to get the claim amount they offered.  Lets just say it was a joke.  However it was during this time that I learned how rude the customer service really was when all I wanted was resolution so I could go on with future travels.  I audit for a living and travel daily and have never seen luggage like mine was only to be told it probably wasn't their fault anyway.  Needless to say what a bad way to remember a vacation.  Here I was willing to invest my time and money on a cruise that I wasn't even appreciated for.  I know in the future we will go back with the cruise line where we know what to expect and feel treated like a human should being it is just a shame that Captain Scala is not the Captain of that line.  I feel that if you are going to expand your business to the United States maybe you should invest in a program to train people how to speak with guests and an improvement in customer service is highly recommended because now instead of the islands as my memory I remember Jess the rude customer service agent.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Good and Bad by emassey98

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I did enjoy our trip, the ship was very clean and very well taken care of which is important to me. We went on a couple excursions that were nice.  The dining room staff was so nice and tried very hard to be accommodating to my food allergy but there wasn't much they could do. I feel like there is not enough wait staff, our waiter had 4 tables on our side of the dining room and 4 on the complete other side of the room. I have celiac disease and there was very little that I could eat, in the dining room or the buffet. My menu was always different than the main menu and very limited.

MSC Rocks !!! by Cruiser50504079

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

MSC is a great cruise line! Its service staff was great and very friendly.  The food was amazing. I had been on this same ship 2 years before and they have improved greatly.  The entertainment at night was incredible. The shows were original and so much fun to watch. Even my small kids enjoyed it.  Thanks again for a great cruise!

Overall we loved it by elenabissell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was mine and my families first cruise and we loved it. My daughter had the most fun ever. It was very windy on the 15th deck, I loved it.  The opened pool had cold water, at least for me and my mom, I wish it would have been wormed up a tad. There was an indoor pool, but I did not want to go there, it was hot and smelled like chlorine (a good thing, just too much for me). My mom had troubles to go to the hot tub, only kids and not even one available for adults only (she said)Happy

Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

EVERYTHING WAS GOOD...FOOD EXC8

SERVICE EXCELLENT. ..

BUT WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE WE PLAN THIS CRUISE FOR

OUR 20TH ANNIVERSARY. ..

WHEN I MADE THE RESERVATION THEY ASK ME

WHAT WAS THE MOTIVE OF THE CRUISE...FOR PLAN A GIFT FOR US AND A ESPECIALLY CELEBRATION...THEY ASK ME FOR WHAT THEY I WANT A CELEBRATE..WE TOLL THEM..MARCH 29..

WE WENT TO THE DINNING ROOM. .AND WE FEEL SAD AND DISSAPOINTED. .NOBODY CARE...NO EVEN PHOTO...CAKE OR ANYTHING. .

ALSO I HAVE A PACKAGE FOR MY PICTURE...THAT NIGHT  I'M BE PLANNED FOR 3 MONTHS. ...

VERY SAD WITH MSC...LIKE THEY DON'T CARE...

WE WENT TO CUSTOMER SERVICE...THEY CARE LESS..

THAT NIGHT WAS THE WORST NIGHT. ..PLANNING EVERYTHING FOR MY ANNIVERSARY. ..FEEL FRUSTRATED. .AND VERY SAD..

WE SPEAK WITH DIFFERENT PERSONS. .THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING FOR US..

MY EXPERIENCE IN THE DINNING ROOM. .NO TOO GOOD .We Love The SHIP

BUT THIS EXPERIENCE. ..IN THAT SPECIAL DAY...WAS TERRIBLE FOR US..AND THE MOST HURT ME..NOBODY IN THE SHOP CARE...

LOURDES ERBITI

Gorgeous ship and very good iterinary! by dhernandez76msncom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship is relatively new and the staff kept the ship clean and in good condition at all times. They also have a wide selection of food and they are very good. They have many activities on board that should keep you busy all day even during days where the ship is docked on the ports. If you have kids, you could drop them off at the Mini Club and they'll take good care of your kids. However, I think overall they could have more amenities for kids. The staff was generally helpful when asked but I think they could spare more smiles here and there. Overall my family and I are very satisfied.
