Review summary

We enjoyed karaoke, and we enjoyed the saxophone player in the lounge. We also enjoyed the music in the lobby at the centre of the boat. The shows were not the best, but that’s just a matter of taste. Speaking of taste, the food was wonderful. Breakfast lunch and dinner was amazing. we ate from both the buffet and the dining room. The staff was very accommodating and very kind. The boat itself we felt was glamorous. We would definitely go again. It was our first time on MSC, but it will not be our last.

Ship tip

Take negative reviews with a grain of salt. The food was wonderful. Most of the reviews I read before leaving where about how bad the food would be. We had more than enough and it was quite tasty. We were surprised that we could bring water bottles and pop bottles on board.

If you were able to bring numerous water bottles and soda onboard at embarkation it was just an oddity, because most ships don't allow it. But you can bring drinks onboard from the ports. However, I remember before the pandemic bringing two bottles of gin onboard MSC Lírica at embarkation in Dubai and 2 cases of Corona at Doha duty free back on the ship. The cases were visible to everyone and they said nothing. When I disembarked one of my bags was flagged. Customs in Dubai just wanted to count how many I had. I took them to my hotel room there where I stayed over the winter. So, it depends on the port and the current guidelines at the security checkpoint. Good to hear you enjoyed your cruise.

I appreciate your review. I don’t understand all the negative reviews as when we were on this ship a few years ago we felt the same way as you. I would take the word of an experienced cruiser like you over the first time cruiser overly negative ones I have been reading. Of course it helps you are a fellow Canadian 😜
