Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
One of the reasons, I booked this cruise was to partake in the diverse menu options that were advertised – which I loved. The international food did not look appealing nor edible. The American menu was basis and the lines were long because it was the only edible familiar food on the ship. The food became limited at some point and we were all forced to hunt for food. All I ate was bread and fruit to get me through. Very disappointing to say the least and lost some inches.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Upon walking through the ship we notice how dull and not welcoming the environment was… There was no music and if it was it was very low (we couldn’t hardly hear anything). Most of the larger pools were closed (why if we have a whole ship full of people and with kids who are stuck on this ship?). The kids slide was not available (which was the highlight of our trip). The available hot tubs were crowded beyond capacity! The big video screens in the common areas had still picture and under the circumstances we should have been allowed to view movies. There was none.

MSC is a cargo ship and not in the business of people. Let that sink in. Carnival is it!

I was on the same cruise and had no problem finding much to eat. My complaint was the passengers loading up and wasting so much. In the MDR numerous people had 2 or 3 entries every night. With appetizers and dessert. Didn't look like they didn't love the food. The Divina is a beautiful well maintained ship. I for one appreciate them not blasting loud music 24/7 every where. As to the pools, there were gale force winds with them being 1knot below hurricane in Nassau when we were there. The water was sloshing to the degree that it would be dangerous for an adult never mind a child to be in them. The water in the hot tub was waving over my head at times just sitting there. Passenger safety first, is a priority for any business. Sorry you missed your flight due to United States customs and Immigration being tardy in clearing the ship for disembarking. I too plan on leaving them a bad review.

People either love or hate MSC. I have cruised with them seven times in the past two years and enjoyed it. Food is always subjective, but I always found something that I liked and thought the food was good, even if not five star. Three of my cruises were on the Divina, and it is my favorite ship as compared to the Seascape, the Seashore, and the Meraviglia.

I’m very sorry you had a bad experience. What I say to all cruisers is you get what you pay for….. there is a reason this cruise line is so inexpensive.
