The theme of this cruise is value. What we paid for what we got was awesome. It was relaxing and fun. My husband and I cruised with our 21 yo son for his Spring Break. We had a great family time and met really nice people while on this cruise.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation was smooth and the staff was friendly. We arrived later than our scheduled time as we learned from a FB group that check-ins were behind that day.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The food is just meh. The only thing I ate that was remarkable was the prime rib in the MDR on the first night. The pizza was very good! The burgers were decent (or I was starving). I didn’t eat anything that was nasty but nothing was delicious. The desserts were beautiful but bland. The buffet had lots of stations but not the kind of variety on other lines. You won’t starve but you probably won’t gain “cruise weight.” The coffee is delicious! The “orange juice” in mdr & buffet is Tang. Yuck! Ask for fresh squeezed if you have the drink package.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We felt like we had plenty to do and we didn’t do half the things available on the ship. We enjoyed the pools and hot tubs.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We thought the DJ’s were good. All the live musicians at the different venues were excellent! The theme night parties were fun. Sail away was not a party so that was odd. The music and fun lasted for about 15 minutes as we prepared to pull away from the port. We skipped the shows as known really appealed to us. I missed having a comedy show available.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
We were underwhelmed by our room steward and MDR waiter. However our son’s steward was awesome! Most the of the other staff we encountered were friendly and nice. We did tip well so I’m sure that helped. For instance by the time we got on board and a got a drink our bags were at our cabin door. We never waited at the bar for a drink. We even had bartenders remember us from the ship and seek out our order on Ocean Cay. We also encountered very friendly staff that we never tipped that engaged us in conversation and were really helpful and polite. Many passengers were rude and treated the crew poorly so you could tell they were over it by the end of the cruise.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship is beautiful and looks great for an older ship. Getting to Villa Rosa (our MDR) and the buffet felt like more work than it needed to be but overall it was fine. The Divina is not showing her age.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was roomy. There was lots of storage. No outlet next to bed, we brought an extension cord.
The balcony was lovely! It was nice to have a couch but it was dirty. Remember to close the curtain during the day to keep the room cool. Our door lock stopped working completely and had to be replaced.
My husband was so bummed that they don’t do towel animals.
Ship tip
Be open minded, flexible and present and you should have a good time. Ocean Cay is pure paradise!
