Review summary

We were on a 17 day cruise, we did two cruises together and that was a lot of fun. It was nice to come back to miami for the day but get back on the boat to go to south america. I like cruising with MSC and find the restaurant staff and cabin staff to be absolutely excellent. The food in the restaurant was wonderful. As indicated earlier, unlike other MSC boats, the buffet didn't mix up the food. The same choices got boring after 17 days as eating at the buffet is helpful for breakfast on excursion days. MSC does a good job getting the excursion people together and to the busses. The price of their excursions is a lot higher than if you just get off the boat and sign up with the travel agencies on the dock. Unlike other cruise companies, the excursions seem a little expensive. The Divina is a huge boat and the elevators got crowded but this boat was completely full on our trip. The entertainment was good and the Divina has a show every night but it does repeat after the first week.

Embarkation

great except they wouldnt let us sit inside, we got there before check in time and they made us wait outside in the heat and sun.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Dining in restaurants and bars was first class. The buffet was good but got boring because they didnt change up the food during out 17 day cruise.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
They need to police the pool area on Sea days. People got up at dawn and reserved chairs with a towel and by 8:00 there were no chairs available the rest of the day.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
They did a great job. Particularly loved the talent show put on by the staff.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
MSC has the best staff at the restaurants and in cabin service.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was great. Doorway was smaller on the Divina than other MSC ships, my wifes walker cant fit through the door without folding it up.

Ship tip

Its an older ship and a bit crowded. Overall it was still a great cruise for the price.

Glad you enjoyed it. I have been on three cruises for a total of 26 days on the Divina since October and it was excellent. I will be on for 17 days from Miami to Barcelona in May and am looking forward to it. I found the MSC excursion prices comparable to private excursions, if you book prior to sailing and take advantage of the 20% discount.
