This is our first MSC cruise. Staff was excellent, ship was elegant. Divina is built for adults and not kids. Plan to go again.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation took about 20-30 min. No issues just have your paperwork in order and ready to go.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
I’ve been on Carnival and Royal ships before. The drinks on MSC were cheaper and very tasty. Didn’t try any specialty restaurants. Pizzas and pastas were AWSOME which is expected on an Italian cruise line.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
MSC Divina is not a mega ship so not as many activities as other ships. I probably wouldn’t bring my kids on this one. Pools were small, couldn’t drink in the hot tubs. Most of the music and dancing was geared towards Hispanics. However music in the atrium in the evening was very good.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We went to all the live shows in the theater. Performers and acrobats were excellent. Costumes were very sexy for both male and female performers defiantly European style.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Room stewards were dressed very nice men had on vests with ties, ladies had on what looked like French maid outfits. We gave our room steward a tip soon as he introduced himself to us and asked him to take care of us. He did an excellent job even gave us two pair of MSC slippers the first night.
Waiter brought my wife his own personal hot sauce when she told him she liked spicy food. On our Anniversary we ordered and payed for two lobster tails our waiter brought us four. We made sure to leave him a nice tip on the last day.
Bar tenders frequently gave us extra shots in our mixed drinks at no additional charge. I asked for a can of soda a few times and they would just give it to me free.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
MSC Divina has very elegant decor. For an older ship she was very clean and well maintained. I wish there were more trash cans. Had to go to the restroom every time I needed to throw out a piece of paper or napkin. The Swarovski Crystal stairs are incredible. Pictures and videos do them no justice, you have to see them in person.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Interior cabin forward. Easy to get from cabin to elevator and vice versa after many drinks. Cabin was quiet and dark with the lights off. Plenty of room for two. Also had two bunks that came down from the walls. I probably wouldn’t stay there with a family.
Ship tip
Drinks are cheap so I don’t feel like the drink package is necessary. Go for more then 3 days ship is so fun and go with an overnight stay at Ocean Cay. Best and most relaxing private island I’ve ever been to on a cruise.
Go on a cruise that stays overnight here. Very relaxing get there early to get an umbrella and bean bag beach setup. Water is warm and clear small food trucks everywhere. Perfect to just layout relax snorkel and swim. Also checkout YouTube for details.
We carried off our own luggage for a quick disembarkation. Took us about 15 minutes to walk out of our 12 floor room to the elevator to the 6th floor gangway and off the ship. Kind of made me worry how easy it would be to smuggle something into our country.
