Review summary

This was a great cruise, although short, and felt like we were gone for over a week. Very relaxing yet it also allowed us to be active. The service was excellent, starting with the bar staff and the welcome drink to the cabin steward and dining services. We did not regret getting a drink package in advance. Made everything so easy. Cannot wait to go on another cruise with MSC. Hopefully, on a different itinerary or a short cruise that only stops at Ocean Cay for more than one day.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We got assigned a time period to embark, and after easy parking, we walked right into the terminal and checked in. First drink in hand 25 minutes after arrival at Cape Canaveral port.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Service was outstanding. The European inspired international cuisine surprised every day, no matter where: the buffet or restaurant.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pools and fitness center / gym offered us ways to actively relax.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows in the Pantheon were of outstanding quality. Especially the dancers were very accurate and precise all three nights. The show themes helped connect the various songs, dances and artistry. The Graffiti show, while entertaining, did promise one thing in the title but the selected songs seemed not to fit into the theme.

Children's Programs

We did not travel with kids; however, we observed many happy children in pools and play areas. There was a ton of programming so parents should not have brought the kids to adults only zones.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service was excellent, starting with the bar staff and the welcome drink to the cabin steward and dining services. We did not regret getting a drink package in advance. Made everything so easy.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Love the ship's decor: La Dolce Vita = Italy! Only thing that I cannot wrap my mind around: the Native American motif of the Buffet. Did not quite fit the rest of the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Surprisingly, the size of the cabin and bathroom were comparable to hotel accommodations we experience on land. As there is so much to do and the weather was nice, we did not spend much time in the cabin.

Ship tip

Bring adapters for the cabin: there were two US outlets and two Euro outlets.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
The embarkation and debarkation went well. Parking in the Garage is nearby. Only negative: instead of charging for 3x 24 hours, the parking charge is per day: 4x days, which added $17 to the parking charge.

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

Stayed on board to relax.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

5 out of 5
The visit to this private island allowed us to play in the sand, swim and snorkel, and also grab a drink.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We planned for breakfast, so by the time we were ready to disembark, the process itself was quick and easy.
