Review summary

I will never go through MSC again! MAJOR disappointment. 2 out of 4 islands. Yes I understand safety first.(Ocean Cay) but not telling anyone in advance about not going to George town. Is not acceptable!

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Average, nothing special.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
There food is getting better. I would rate it as a 6.5

Onboard Activities

Here is the concern, pool side all day they do stretching ,Bingo, triva. I'm on a Caribbean cruise. How about music?steel pans? Island music, dance music. Nope. Let's talk the whole day instead. I had to play my own music every day. What a joke! If you are on deck 15 center pool you have no drink service.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Read above!!!! No music during the day. No DJ.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Staff super nice.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Very clean, they are constantly cleaning. The down fall is.....all the stores are scattered on 3 floors and in different areas of the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Worst room to stay in! A pounding noise from the ceiling all night. Had customer service up in my room 3 times. They moved us to a different room.that night we received 4 hours of sleep. Jennifer the customer service manager was awesome. She switched us to a different room .was very nice and quiet.

Ship tip

Don't do it! Pick a different cruise line company. The reason I say this is because they never told us about George Town, Cayman islands being canceled until we were on board.and couldn't get a refund and rebook. They did give everyone a $50 credit per cabin. This is wrong! They knew way in advance the port is close.and instead they pick to spend the day at sea? I could have stayed home at my pool. And I would have saved more money then $50.00 and on top of that not making it on to Ocean Cay. So bottom line 2 out of 4 islands. And no credit for not making on to the ocean Cay. I want to visit different parts of the world.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

It was terrible. You are constantly dodging people who want you to rent from them or go in there stores or restaurants.

George Town, Grand Cayman

1 out of 5
It sucked! They never stopped there due to the port being closed for the last 2 years, yet MCS never told anyone until it was too late. We were on the ship.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

1 out of 5
Two tries to get to the dock, no go! High winds and waves. The boat couldn't get to the port. And Yes I understand safety first, and I'm all for that. But 2 out of 4 islands is bad.and one of them they knew the port is closed for 2 years and didn't have the never to tell us until we were on the ship and we spent the day at sea,not another port?

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

1 out of 5
Same as cozamel! Constantly dodging people. They will not leave you alone. The scenery is nicer.

Miami, Florida

1 out of 5
No excursion, just on and off the ship.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Quick and easy

I can relate with everyone mentioning missed ports and not be told beforehand with an option to cancel. This past December we were on the Seashore for a 7 day Caribbean cruise in the Yacht Club. We spent 5 DAYS AT SEA!!!!!!!!! I WAS FURIOUS! To add insult to injury they credited us $30.00 for ONE missed port. MSC you know where you can stick your 30 stinking dollars! We spent a FORTUNE for the Yacht Club only to be LOCKED UP AT SEA FOR 5 OF 7 DAYS. EPILOG: Complaining and demanding money back or, a discount for a future cruise will fall on deaf ears. Their answer, "It was beyond our control." IRRRR! One of the worse feelings is the feeling of being powerless. Good luck to all of you who drool over MSC. ... Until it happens to YOU.

Accept I called MCS 2 days before the cruise and I was TOLD YES WE WILL BE STOPPING AT GC!

Yes, I agree MSC should have kept you updated on Grand Cayman being closed to ships but they probably thought everyone already knew that? The cruise lines have kept GC in their itinerary just incase the island opens up. Any review or anything written about GC since Covid says it has been closed. There are other changes since Covid also just so people are aware.

Thanks for the review. People either seem to love or hate MSC. I had a great experience on Meraviglia in January and am considering the Divina in October for a 19 night itinerary that is great.
