Review summary

MSC was a great post pandemic cruise. Felt very safe. Food was god. Staff was excellent and very happy to be there. Great view from balcony. Two days at Ocean Cay was relaxing and wonderful. Yes you can complain about food but everyone’s taste is different. Try new things and enjoy life! MSC was a great cruise line to travel on!

Embarkation

You are assigned a time to report. Minimal lines very quick and easy at Port Canaveral

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room was very empty. Each party sat at own table. Waiters were very attentive. Food was average to good.they were charging extra in dining room for shrimp cocktail and steak. Buffet was served to you with food behind plexiglass. Pizza was fantastic.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pools were wonderful. Indoor/covered pool in rain was very quiet. Had 3 hot tubs to be used by 1 party. Two hot tubs on deck above pool also. Never had problem getting one. Also adult only pool at rear of boat. There was also family pool with 3 hot tubs

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Evening shows were entertaining. No comedian. Two nights were dancing and singing by the on cruise performers. One night was staff talent show which was very cute and entertaining. Italian production was good.

Children's Programs

No kids with me on cruise

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Waiters went out of their way to provide service. All employees are thrilled to be back working. They were extremely caring and wanted to please you. Don’t believe precious stories of them not being helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Covid cleaning hand washing and mask enforced even though only vaccinated adults on ship. Kids were only unvaccinated individuals.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Balcony due to free upgrade. Balcony is small but great to sit on in morning and evening. Great storage for clothing. Beds comfortable.

Ship tip

They have done frat care with Covid precautions. You feel safer on ship than in many stores and restaurants.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Port was convenient to get to and parking close by. Did not do any excursions.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Port is beautiful. Water and beach relaxing. Buffet was good with picnic food.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
Port was quiet. Many stores not open due to only one cruise ship in port and cruising just starting. Stores were cheaper than Costa Maya.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

4 out of 5
Port was empty. Many stores were closed. Very sad to see how empty and deserted it was.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and easy due to so few passengers. Put luggage out at 11:30 and it was gone by 11:40 when went to get something out. Was off ship and through customs by 8:30 am.
