Review summary

Very disappointing. Lovely ship spoiled by poor food and entertainment. Costa Rica, Costa Maya, Jamaica and Panama are not worth visiting. Roatan is great. The MSC Island in the Bahamas is very poor. Overall MSc are very disappointing and would recommend you try P & O, Royal Caribbean or Celebrity instead

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Embarkation was relatively quick but could have been made more interesting and inspiring. Our last Caribbean Cruise was with P & O and they had a calypso band playing and provided a range of drinks an artificial flower garland and photos beside the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The food was mediocre and very disappointing. The drinks package was excellent. You felt like you were on a booze cruise as everything was geared towards the drinks. That is not what cruising is all about as we go for the excellent food.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The activities were very disappointing. No real effort was made to promote them and they were all overcrowded.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
This was all very ordinary. P & O provide far superior entertainment in every way.

Children's Programs

We had no children with us

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
The room steward and bar staff were very good but the restaurant staff extremely disappointing

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship was beautiful. However the cruise experience is all about the food. It is no use having a lovely ship only to be served pub style food and provided with ordinary entertainment

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
This was the best part of the whole experience. An excellent cabin.

Ship tip

Only go on this ship if your priority is the drink. The food and entertainment is 3 star at best

Of all the stupid reviews I've read, this takes first place. I dont even believe you sailed with them or anyone else. So you hated the ship but didn't visit a single port huh? Please

Interesting. Your profile doesn’t show you’ve been on Royal or Celebrity at all. How do you know they’re better than MSC? As for a cruise being all about the food as you state, I consider alcohol to be an extra food group, so I’m very much looking forward to going on MSC again in a few weeks. MSC is so liberal with their top end drink package I bet I can literally get a (well tipped) bartender to shove an ice cube into a bottle of Johnny Blue and give it to me. I’ll keep you posted.

The islands that you say are not worth visiting were not on your list of islands visited, are you speaking of past cruises?
