Review summary

This cruise experience was our very first cruise. Embarkation went smooth and we had to rely on what the workers told us regarding muster drill LOL. We had a balcony cabin and it was a great experience. I didn't know what to expect and I think we went over board of pre-purchasing lost of items before we cruised from bottles of wine, coffee drink packages, specialty dining to photo packages. It was too much and being this our first, I realized we didn't get to enjoy the food at the main dining because we bought so much specialty dining. Their food at the main dining was amazing as well. Macarons on board were legit and yummy! Workers were friendly and very accommodating. We were really treated really nice! Food was great! Wine delicious! We enjoyed hanging out out on their pool deck area to swim or just get some tan. Night life was enjoyable, upbeat and never a dull night! Ports visited were all nice and enjoyed every bit of it.

Everything went smoothly since this is our first cruise ever. We even received free MSC lanyards :)

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We had set dining and sat with a few other guests which I thought was great! We bought a specialty dining package and bottles of wine package too. Didn't have much time trying out the buffets but only during breakfast. Everything from food and drinks were amazing!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Enjoyed hanging out and swimming in their pools and soaking in the hot tubs.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
LOVE their live bands every night! Great performances and danced the night away literally every night! Watched their live shows too.

Children's Programs

No kids with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was very attentive to our needs from dining to our room steward all the way to the shows! They recognize us from the nights before :)

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
It was okay, there was a certain smell in their restroom area near the pool and buffet area back the (2016).

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Since this was my very first cruise to experience, I thought the room size is pretty descent. I loved the layout. There were lots of storage space for both of us. The only issue we had is at night, we could hear a squeaking sound either coming from our closet? Like there was a broken lock or joint and you could hear it as the ship sailed. I just got to learn how to accommodate and sleep with it. Other than that, everything about this room is great!

Ship tip

If you love wine, buy their dinner wine bottles before sailing if they still offer it. 7 total wine bottles throughout your sailing that they serve during your dinner for less than $150 is so worth it.
