Review summary

We were quite pleased with this cruise. We had read some bad reviews, but we didn't have a bad experience. We felt it was a lovely ship, had great service and wonderful food. We even booked another MSC cruise while on this cruise.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The lines were long, but they did move along. We were in a line and moved to a big room where we waited to board the ship. They had water for us to drink and the room was air conditioned.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was delicious. The wait staff excellent. The waiter always keep our wine glass full and asked if we needed another beer. We never had problem with our food; however, a table mate did. The waiter worked hard to make sure she was happy. We had heard that the wait time for meals was very long, but that was not the case for us. We felt they served the food rather quickly and lunch and dinner took no time.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We really didn't attend any of the activities on the ship. We did attend 80s music trivia and enjoyed it.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The ships shows were entertaining. There was a lot of acrobats.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our dining room wait staff was wonderful. We couldn't have asked for better. We often had a lounge waitress that was wonderful. We never had to wait for service.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
An absolutely beautiful ship. Very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We had an obstructed view balcony. We had originally booked an inside cabin, but was upgraded. We had the lifeboats outside our balcony. The bed was comfortable. The cabin very clean. We wished they had more hangers in the closet.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
We spend the evening before the cruise on South Beach. We had dinner and a few drinks. It was fun watching the people walk by.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
St. Maarten was our favorite port on this cruise. We booked an excursion through Bernard's Tours (outside the ship). It was an excellent tour and we highly recommend it. While on Orient Beach, there were a lot of women walking around asking us to purchase things, for foot massages, and to apply aloe.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

4 out of 5
We enjoyed visiting the two forts on the island. We used the free trolley for transportation. We did have to wait a long time for the trolley which was packed with people and not air conditioned. We stopped at a local restaurant and had a great lunch.

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Our least favorite port of this cruise. We went to Junkano Beach and visited the Tiki Bikini Hut. We had the worst service there. The view across the way was beautiful; however, on both sides of us were big concrete structures. You couldn't take a walk on the beach.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarktion went very smoothly and quickly.
