Review summary

Overall the cruise was a good trip. Food was decent, our cabin person was there when we needed them and the ship was pretty clean.

Compared to other cruise lines we have gone on though we felt they just werent as good. Small things details were missing and sometimes the service just wasnt on point.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Food wasnt bad. Buffet served basically what the dinning room did. We only tried the Pizza place a specialty dinner and enjoyed it. We had the drink package so we pretty much tried most of the drink menu. We did find it annoying that different bars would have different items sometimes and we would go to the other one and they would.

Service and Staff

First two dinner services were really slow (second seating). We also found it really hard to get a (non wine) drink during dinner. A few times I ordered a drink to have the waiter say OK then wonder where it was a hour later only to have to order it again. A few times it seemed like we were bothering the staff though most of them were great.

Cabin / Stateroom

Balcony room was standard cruise fair. Only issue we had is that we had no towels when we first got on board. Note that if you lose your orange beach towel they will charge you so make sure you have them.

Ship tip

They automatically add gratuity onto your bill each day (Ours was $85 a person I believe) you can have them remove it if you want to pay the people directly or you just dont believe you got good service. Use the TV to check your account. There is an F1 simulator in the Teens area on level 16

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Hated south beach. Bunch of people just acting as fools and packed but I should have expected that. Little Havana had amazing food, you should definitely jot over there if you can. Went to the Vizcaya Gardens and Museum. Wonderful place. Would recommend as well.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Took a cab over to Orient Bay (not through the ship). Cost $16 round trip a person cause we went with a family (they arranged a pickup time to get us so it made it simple). Beach was amazingly beautiful. There is a nude side but we stayed on the other side. We got a beach chair and umbrella for $8 a person at Orange Fever and ended up eating there. Had the whole snapper and it was delicious. Had a few of the Guava berry Frozen drinks and those were great. Only thing I didnt like about this beach day was the people walking around asking if I wanted a foot massage ever 20 minutes. They werent pushy though and would move on.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

We did the rain forest excursion and it was 45 each way on a bus. Our driver did an excellent job talking about San Juan and places we were going to. The trip it self included a stop at the visitor center where there was a very short trail, a stop at the tower and a final stop at the waterfalls. Overall it was nice but you didn't walk around and explore.

Nassau, Bahamas

Least favorite of the ports. We did the Balmoral island Beach Day. You take a little boat over to an island and have to stay at the small resort they have there. There is only one choice for bar and food so they have the ability to charge a bit more for stuff. We split the pulled pork meal they had. Definitely enough for the two of us and it was good. Price was ~$24 for meal and a single beer if I remember correctly. The beach was full of chairs to use and there was a volley ball net. It didnt get full while we were there but it looked like they could really pack people in a small area. After the beautiful beaches of St Maarten this was just underwhelming.

I cruised on MSC DIVINA last August. We didn't see any towel animals. That was a huge disappointment for me (I'm a kid at heart lol).
