Review summary

This is a very pretty ship, mirrors everywhere. Some staff was great, some not so attentive, especially at speciality bars. The food needs work, both from the menu and the buffet. Entertainment was ok. I would not cruise on MSC again. Luggage was lost for a day and a half which required multiple visits and phone calls before it was found. Definitely don't bother with room service. It was very clean and well kept, it's a shame the food was so bad.

Ship tip

Use the stairs often, the elevators take a long time

Ports of call

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

3 out of 5
Rupert met us at the beach entrance and took good care of us. Jerk chicken was very good, 1 plate was enough for 2, water was beautiful

George Town, Grand Cayman

2 out of 5
Not much at the port, best to make some plans

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
Shopping near port, restaurants on main streets wouldn't go down side streets

Nassau, Bahamas

2 out of 5
Plan a supervised excursion, armed security guards near port shopping

We just returned from our cruise on the Divina, and I concur....service was very lacking... even during the less busy times of day, there would be 3 bartenders, and I'd be the only person at the bar, and they don't even acknowledge you... I'd finally have to say "excuse me...can I get a drink please?". Forget about on deck servers...in 7 days we were approached one time and asked if we needed a drink. The buffet was sufficient, but the other 4 cruise lines I've been on had them beat by a long-shot. Dining room...same quality as buffet but very slow service. The turn-down service wasn't impressive...the only thing we asked was to keep our ice bucket filled. Didn't happen. Kept having to set it outside the door. I met 2 staff members who were very pleasant and engaging...the rest barely acknowledge you. Entertainment was so-so; the DJ at the disco not only wouldn't play any requests, he seemed insulted that I even asked! Some of the planned entertainment in the lounges was cancelled; so much for planning your evening with the daily activities brochures! Again, other cruise lines' were far better. I also did not appreciate that I paid for a 7 night cruise, but on the last night, they shut down venues, activities, and most of the buffet! One of the most beautiful ships for sure, but I'd give up the glam for the more important aspects of cruising!
