Review summary
Embarkation.
Yes, it was slow. 30 minutes to get sorted out. I think we were there during the peak time though. They did express seniors and disabled guests to the front of the line.
The ship.
Its beautiful. The layout isn't the greatest. I kept referring to a map throughout most of the sailing. Kept very clean
The cabin.
We had 9080 with a balcony. Never really made good use of it. Think I will stick to oceanview. The bathroom was small but well laid out. I wasn't spending much time in there...lol...so it was fine. Beds were comfy. Cabin steward was awesome.
Entertainment.
My kids loved the kids/teen clubs. Lots of activities during the day. I was happy with just being on a cruise. Love the salt air, the breeze, and the beautiful blue ocean. All the rest of the activities were great. This is a European line so not as much going on as a mainstream line.
Food.
Dining room food and service were great. Plenty of choices. The buffet was good as well. It is one huge sprawling mass of food. The gelato was good but costs $. Free soft serve though.
Drinks
I bought the 18 driink tickets for myself. That was plenty for me. Never had a problem getting a beverage. I tipped $1 a drink and had the best service I ever had on a cruise. The kids had the nonalcoholic tickets and spent them mostly on gelato. Coffee/tea, juice, and milk are free at the buffets and restaurant.
Ports.
We did our own thing. I did some research and saved myself a lot of $$$ over the tours.
St Maarten. Used private tour company found on TRIPADVISOR. Great time!
San Juan. Took ferry/bus and went to the Bacardi factory. Dock is within walking distance of old San Juan.
Nassau. Took taxi to Atlantis. Went to Cabbage Beach rather then spending $700 for 4 people to spend the day at the water park.
Disembarkation
Easy, organized, fast, and simple.
Conclusion
Liked the price and cruise so much, we are booked for next Christmas. Thanks MSC.
