Review summary

Let me start out with our experience prior to boarding our cruise. The MSC website was routinely unavailable so it forced you to call the 800 number. Most of the time it was a long wait to speak to a representative. Prior to our cruise I requested later seating for dining. I was told I would be accommodated. I received my documents stating I was on a wait list for second seating. Once again I contacted MSC and was told they could not resolve the issue and I would have to talk to the maitre d when I boarded. They assured me It would not be a problem. The embarkation process was very smooth except we found out you have to assign a credit card to your account once you get on the ship. Once on board we immediately went to the dining room to see if we can switch our dining time. We waited to speak to the maitre d and we were told he would see what we can do. Not a surprise he did not accommodate us! Maybe he was waiting for a handout like the couple in front of us gave him. We had prepaid for drink vouchers and were told to pick them up in the casino on the first day. When we got there, we explained to the woman that was helping us that we prepaid. She said she understood but needed our room key. Later that night in the restaurant, one of the restaurant staff gave us an envelope that contained drink vouchers. I explained to him that we received them already. He said he would check and get back to us which he never did. Not a surprise but we were charged for the vouchers, which I had to get straightened out with guest services. When we get to our room, the handicap accessible ramp to the balcony was broken and I tripped and almost hit my head. Once again, I go to guest services, wait on a long line, To explain the situation. I was told by Raymond that safety is MSC's priority. Well, 3 days later the problem was fixed! Due to our inconvenience, they gave comped us dinner at the galaxy restaurant which was very delicious and probably one of the only great things that came out of this cruise. The excursions we choose were organized and lots of fun. Trying to find a seat at the buffet was chaotic. Most of the time, we could not find a table and had to eat elsewhere on the ship. The food in the restaurants was much better than the buffet. Workers were polite and attentive. Entertainment was good but needed more variety. Through my experiences ,other cruise lines do a better job.

Thanks for sharing your cruise.

I can't say the nationality of the few rude ones exactly...I didn't pay that close of attention to them! The staff was amazing and they were from all over the world! Lol We are trying a different cruise line simply for comparison and that we want to experience a new ship but I would recommend the Divina without a doubt!

@ enita you're right, it's not the cruise lines falter how people behave. I look forward to going on my cruise on August 20th, and I'm sure I will have a great time I don't let the little things bother me it's my vacation so I can either make fun or complain the whhile time. As long as I have edible food, running water to shower and flush...the rest will be great.

One thing I can't understand is how can people blame the rudeness of the guests on the cruise line? I've sailed the Divina twice. It is my favorite ship and all my memories on her are great and unique! I will do Divina again next year and I can't wait.

One of the good thing about MSC was the ability to buy drink tickets prior to the cruise, saving some money because they are discounted.

No you can't bring wine and yes to the cash deposit to establish your account. I just got home this weekend from our Divina cruise. We had a great time. Yes there are some rude people but we managed to find friendly ones as well. Go with a positive and easygoing attitude!

bienfang10 I'm going on Divina August 20, I like to use cash not a credit card to set up my account is that going to be a problem? In spite of all the negative comments I'm looking forward to my cruise. Have a question, can I bring a bottle of wine on board?

Dottiedee...I agree with you about the rude guests on the Divina. I have not experienced this on other lines.

I am being truthful! What I was trying to say is when you check in on other cruise lines you have to give a credit card at that time. I don't want to be bothered doing that myself at a kiosk on the cruise.

Been on her twice and can't say one bad thing about either trip.

It seems that with this ship, the cruiser either loves it or hates it. I don't see that being said about other ships. Perhaps it's just the luck of the draw. I did not like a lot about the ship, but it is beautiful and the cabins are nice

Wow. 1st of all. You do not need a credit card to get on ship. Your not being truthful. Sorry, one of the best cruises we have been on. So, did u have a balcony? Or a interor? My wife and I are gold on Carnival. Never had problem while cruising. Bring cash and get off the boat without having to worry. Cash. Cash. Cash
