Review summary
The cruise staff was the rudest I have ever encountered. From top to bottom, nobody on the staff cared if you had a great vacation. It was like they were inconvenienced to help you and take care of you. I had issues with wait staff, casino staff and even had an argument with the Excursion Director Sphindile Nduli since she could care less that they sent us out on an excursion that was totally not safe for people to be on. I can go on and on but don't want to go overboard. No band near the pool during the day, they just showed an MSC commercial all day long on repeat on the big screen. The casino did not open half the tables so if you did not get a seat early in the night, you wouldn't get one. I had to play slots just to gamble since the tables never opened. No matter how busy the casino was, they would just close at 2:30am. They didn't care that passengers were having a good time.

I understand "Chubroc's" concerns: I finally put it together the 3rd day of the cruise. The service was not bad, but it was not over-the top as what I have been accustomed to from other cruise lines. They cater to a more Eurocentric style and the other cruises are catered to the North American Style Cruiser. I do believe in a few years they will be a fierce competitor. MSC needs to spend more time in the ports. For example in the Bahamas we met at 12pm, did not leave the theater room til 12:45pm, we still had to , walk down to the gangway, debark, met outside the ship, walk through the port, travel to and from the island, and be back on board by 5:30 which did not leave us much time on the excursion. I did have a good time, but MSC needs to allow for more time in the ports. In regards to late entertainment, everything shuts down at 2:30am (food, casino, etc.) I was a bit shocked to see children in late night bars and lounges, but again this is a European trait. Also, languages other than English are highly prevalent from staff and passengers which can lead to a break downs in communication which also can possibly lead to a good or bad experience for some people. I speak 2 languages and I felt in the minority speaking English.
