Review summary

Mixed reviews on this cruise.  First the good:  They had, hands down, the absolute best entertainment that I have experienced on any cruise.  I hadn't expected opera and classical music, and was delighted that they provided both...and great quality in both.  Also, the shows that they produced were very professional...a lot of times cruises depend on sparkle rather than talent in their shows.  This wasn't the case.  Service was wonderful and the ship was beautiful.  The bad:  The food was only so-so...we prefer buffets for their casual atmosphere.  On this ship, the dinner after 8:00 was mostly pizza and burgers.  The design of the ship made it impossible not to be in a crowd of people constantly.  There were too few bathrooms off of the main activity areas so that people had to line up.  The design of the single buffet caused traffic jams and again constant exposure to crowds.  The "jazz" bar played wedding reception music...not jazz...and they played the Cher concert at least once a day, every day, on the big screen.

Buffet selections pretty tasteless...after 8:00 burgers and pizza best choices.

Ship Quality

New ship...beautiful. Layout and flow problems. Make sure to get an outside balcony room to escape the crowds.

Ship tip

Make sure to book an outside balcony cabin to escape the crowds and make sure that you are on deck 13 since it is easier to run down to your own bathroom from the activities on 14 than to wait in line for the single stall bathroom there. Don't miss the evening shows in the theater.

Ports of call

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

We are always disappointed in St. Maarten having been there before it became tacky.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Probably our own fault since we stuck to the city tour. Go outside the city if possible.

Yes, I agree that the shows are wonderful.  Maybe not all passengers like them, but I did.  Every single night there was a different show.  My husband speaks Italian so we h=never had a problem with the language.
